I vented last night. Sorry. The bike still hasn't been found and the chatter on Facebook worries me. Evidently you don't mess with the BMX bike circuit when a member is well liked. My gs is one of the 'crazies' that likes to go do the scary jumps (like 20 ft off the ground), spins in the air, turns, riding rails, going down steps backwards and he is good at it. I don't see how that is a stress reliever but it is for him. He is just getting his life together. He got a 2nd job recently (seasonal construction). He got his 1st pick up. He had been riding his bike to work even in the snow. Life seems like it was getting better. He was super happy his dad took him to the auto dismantlers to get a replacement window for the one smashed. In Montana the weather dictated how soon the window had to be replaced...it couldn't wait til his paydays. He found out his Dad was there for him and they are going to put the window in today. My gs needed to know his Dad was there for him and he was not alone. Now we wait to see what domino's are played next.

Some good things are going in my life. My 5th ggd is due in June. Seems funny to have a 4 yr old gd, a 3 yr old ggd, a 2 yr old ggd and a 1 yr old ggs. (just the young ones) I just wish I felt up to doing a lot of sewing. My mind says I am eager to get started my body says 'not yet'. I was able to get a sundress stitched up before getting sick..that is a plus. I started early. It is for my 4 yr old gd's birthday. I have 3 t-shirts to embroider next for her birthday and being she wanted a 36 in sock monkey for Christmas and her Mom couldn't afford it I am thinking if this round of meds works we will see if Grammy can whip up a 36 in Raggedy Ann doll. It's not a sock monkey but maybe, just maybe it will be loved the same.

Hopefully a few more days on your antibiotic will get you some extra energy when you start feeling better to be able to get things done. I've heard on Facebook and Craigslist that some people have been able to recover their stolen things. Someone will slip up and your gs will get a lead to who has his bike. Hugs for you and your GS. Feel better soon.

Never feel bad about venting, We all have issues,be it family, health, financial , Sometimes it just helps to let it out. I just keep telling myself things will get better and they have. Being negative gets us nowhere. Count your blessings and keep believing.

I don't see that you need to apologise for expressing your feelings about people who steal or for expressing the love and concern you have for your gs. It isn't clear what you mean regarding your worries for the chatter on Facebook. I have to be honest and say that I would personally ban each and every one of these so-called social media systems. There is very little good come from them and a great deal of evil. I do hope that the bike is found and that things settle down for all concerned.

Dennis, Ouch. Isn't this site a form of social media?

Sorry, you are absolutely correct and no offence was intended. I really meant the likes of Facebook, Twitter, etc. I should exercise my personal maxim more often, which is "A closed mouth gathers no feet."

The chatter is what his what his friends are saying. I hope they don't go vigilante and try to find 'their' friends bike. I hope it is just venting. The BMX community stick up for one another when one is wronged. It just happened and it usually takes a few days to check things out. I pointed out how a few years ago he went for a ride with some friends but the friends took him out of town and he was left stranded 100 or so miles from home with no funds and no cell phone. The police had just given my daughter the paperwork no parent should want to fill out and asking for a DNA sample. I asked for help and as a result stranger walked up to him and asked him if his name was------. He said yes. Then the man said, 'your grandmother is worried about you.' 'Let's get you home'. Ordinarily he wouldn't take a ride with a stranger but as he put it, something said this was O.K. He was home a short time later. Now....what I wanted him to realize is to put this in God's hands and he needs a bit of time to work. And I wanted it where his 'friends could read it'.

Now I will defend Facebook. I see a lot of things that could be changed but for the most part I like it. I own a precious Wheaten Scottish Terrier. I have found a community of friends on F/B that own Scottish Terriers. I belong to several Scottish Terrier groups and clubs. I belong to the AKC group. With that said I have carefully picked who my friends are on F/B. It took a bit but anywhere in life you have to be careful who the friends you pick are. F/B doubly so. I love to hear when there are 'spoiled' new puppies born and I love to see the pictures they share. We see pictures of the people who adopt the puppies. We are in the lives of those people as well. Then they start posting to F/B as well, and we see the puppy grow up. Some grow up to be show dogs...one friend showed her dog last week for the first time....it was wonderful to learn he came in 4th place.
And on the other side of things. I see how 'hated' the puppy mills are and how when they crack down on one what goes into the work of placing the dogs at rescue centers. How they drive hundreds of miles to save those dogs. To give them something they don't know...a life worth living. How they publicize when there is someone buying dogs for dog fighting or just plain shoot so no one sells or give them a dog. They do their best to get pics and names and post them. If someone sees a dog chained in a yard in the sun with no water it is posted so someone can get the authorities involved. There are some good things about F/B as well as bad. Now it is Twitter and My Space that I do not care for. But then, that's me. Twitter I haven't really given a chance because I don't have the time.. Have a good evening everyone.
