There have been some rather gorgeous babies'/children's alphabet sets over the years, and I'm so glad I have them, but the current CE one is a beauty. It looks so uncomplicated, clear and sweet, relaxed maybe, and there's enough difference in the designs to hold a child's interest. They're a good size, too, for a child's quilt. Every time I've decided what designs I want to use another delightful set comes along.

Veronika has certainly offered some great designs and they stitch out so easily and perfectly. Did anyone else ever use her Spingtime dancing girls applique designs? I won a Spring quilt block competition with my appliqued block.

Thanks for the reminder. i am really trying to use my designs well! I need to do an Aloha project for a pre-teen and has to be done in 10 days. No clue what to do. I don't have to sew the project - just stitch a design. So many choices. She like animals and is visiting a shelter while she is here.

That's hard one. Do you have plenty of animal designs?
I've read recently that Hawaii has a 'too many dogs in the shelter' problem. Maybe a really nice design of a dog would work. It probably depends on what the item being sewn is that will determine the final design but if the item is anything like a toiletry bag then maybe one of the recent dog designs, like the dog by the bath, could be an idea. You wouldn't want that on a t-shirt, though, but another more realistic design with the word Aloha by it could be an idea for the t-shirt.

I always have trouble deciding how to use a new alpha. I've put my Grandsons names on some of their things but that is all. If you have some other ideas, I'd love to hear them!
Thank you, Meri

I always think of quilts with the alphabet letters separated by fabric blocks - checks, nursery fabrics, solids - they'd all look grand, but then there are the initials to use on baby bibs and onesies or other clothing, drawstring bags for treasures, pencil cases .... the list goes on. I'm always aware that full names on clothing or school bags is not such a good idea.

I agree, when they have a new one, I get excited and think of a few things to do with it, before I get anything done, they come out with another . This alphabet is sew cute.

We are being really spoilt right now with some beauties from Cute Alphabets and Amazing Embroidery Designs as well as the Cute Embroidery one. In the past there have been some really intricate alphabets.... I'm thinking the Christmas and embossed ones.... I used a classy Christmas letter as the centre of a nine-patch Christmas fabric front of a tote for a special friend. It took quite a while to stitch out but looked great.

That is wonderful that you won but I am not surprised at all. You hav ea lot of talent and the designs are wonderful to work with. I have used some of Ms. Veronika's alpha's in gifts I have given to family and friends. They are the best loved of all the personalized items.

Thank you. Maybe the way you've used the letters would answer eyeztodiefor10's request for more ideas for using them. Some of the more adult alphabets look beautiful on lingerie bags, eyeglass cases - that sort of thing.
