It is a Bank Holiday weekend here in UK and the weather is traditionally bad on these occasions! However, it is spring and we found a bank covered in primroses when we walked the dog.

Do we get primroses in Australia? If so they do not grow where I live. They are beautiful.

Roadside flowers in bloom always look gorgeous.

Small wonders like that make every walk so enjoyable! The cultivated ones in my garden have yet to show more than tiny leaves.

Thank you for this Sue. I have not seen primroses for over 40 years but I can still remember their beautiful scent. Sarah.

Very nice. It usually gets warm quickly here, I planted primroses and pansies and then it snowed.I missed protecting 2.

Lovely picture Sue. My garden is full of primroses. Yesterday I saw a huge patch of cowslips and they looked beautiful

Cowslip wine?

asterixsew by asterixsew 04 May 2013

Yes a great idea but they were at the side of the road just near the start of the M4 so if it was safe to pick them then they would have got many extras from all the petrol fumes

A bank where you get money or a bank you can sit on. How about a river bank. Ohhhhhhh the English language. Whatever bank it is I am glad signs of spring are showing up and those primroses are beautiful.

Vive la difference!

Let me put your mind at rest crafter. None of the UK financial institutions (Banks) have got any money in them, let alone primroses. The primroses of which Sue speaks are on a bank (a slope of land) and may be found at roadsides, rivers, lakes, footpaths, etc. These are the banks that you can sit on admiring the primroses whilst contemplating the meaning of life and why you haven't got any money in the other type of bank.

Ahhhhhh. LOL

I was also thinking the money bank. Bank holidays in the states are usually on Mondays not weekends. But with ATM's you can withdraw your 2 cents anytime.

Tomorrow (Monday 6th. May) is our Bank Holiday, so put together with Saturday and Sunday it makes a nice long Bank Holiday weekend for those who work. For me, being retired, Monday to Sunday is a holiday unless She Who Must Be Obeyed has spoken, in which case I work an eight day week!!!! No peace for the wicked!!
