HI,I use a backing like dream weave by Jenny Haskins also sticky stabilizer. He is lovely.happy sewing
He's a beautiful Santa. Look at the link below. It helped me with stitching on satin. ;)
Hi Jer, I did the temporary spray on cutaway like they said, their trick which I have todo is to add double sided stick tape to the corners of the inner hoop that holds the corners down. Great tip! I will try it probably today or tomorrow. Thank you!
Pretty design. You have gotten lots of good advice, and I have learned some things as well, reading the comments. I hope you will show your finished project. Hugs.
Does your machine have a baste around function? That really holds everything in place very well. If not, I would pin around as best you can or use some clips to hold it all in place. Hugs. Nan
I do not know it should it is an older but it is a fancy shmancy machine. I am looking for it now,
It is a very nice design and looks good on the fabric. If you have software that can take out some of the stitches, it will help reduce the density. The design will still look great but not be as dense. You have great advice already. Keep working on it and you will achieve the look you want.
Thanks so much. I really want to conquer satin and towels I had beginners luck with towels now I have to work at it!
I find that with Satins sometimes an iron on interfacing is needed, then a heavy iron on either cut away or tear away it will reduce the puckers a little depends on what the finish item is to be used for
Ok I should use a light peltex (what I have a lot of) and then cutaway. Gotta remember this!
That is really nice and must have taken some time to machine.
well this look real great
well done Christine
hugs Sonja
I think you have done an amazing job!
I think I would add a sticky back dissolvable too. Something that would hold the fabric stationary. I am not sure if you could do an iron-on stabilizer or not. I hope someone is of more help than I am with this one.
I used temp spray, however I could use an iron on tear away? I also have a hydro stick tear away, if I can find it. I do not like using sticky if I can help it.
One more layer of cut away underneath??
I like to stay away from sticky too -- but it seems if you could get the fabric to hold its shape...a pucker or two would disappear.
I use a sticky wash away, if I worry about the fabric moving or shifting. I could be wrong, but it looks like the fabric shifted between the toy sack and the boots.
I know you will pull this off! You are VERY good at this!
It is a lovely Santa Christine, what will you do with it?
We'll see when I get the rest of them complete, I have to do better as far as puckering, and I am not sure how to do that with large designs. I do have a pre-printed fabric that may go well with this.
