Was asked to teach a class on cross stitching... They had hoops and burlap... so decided to give the burlap a try and see how it did. There are some challenges, the weave is uneven, but workable, and it smells like tater sacks. I had to stop everyonce in a while and get away from it because I kept wanting a baked potatoe... you have to use six strands and I havent tried outline stitches yet or half stitches. but like the way this came out and am working on a denser design. It is a rough fabric and have several instances of the thread being raveled by the burlap so short lengths are best.

it really does look nice but I don't think I would want burlap on any thing.
Last Christmas women came on wanting burlap wreaths and burlap bows for their Christmas trees. I thought it looked tacky but they loved it.

had an orange burlap table-cloth at a meeting of Country Women's Associatione one day. Guess what, our clothes were all covered in orange threads - that was the end of a lovely cloth ! You have done a great job, as it would have been difficult.

I was in a furniture store on Saturday, and was so surprised at all of the burlap I saw. It was used on everything from pictures, to dining room chairs to lamp shades. Love yours! Wow. ;)
