He should understand that you have to keep up with your own things. And you don't want to watch his.He should not put the extra work on you.If he wants to sell ,he should get his hide up and get a booth and sell his.
He thinks -- Why should I do it if she will do it for me? I didn't fall for it.
Delighted to hear that you are at peace with yourself once more and that you had stood up for yourself. Good on you and shame on him for his audacity and otherwise unreasonable behaviour. You have every reason to be proud of yourself.
Thank You. When I ring their place I try to ring when I know he is not home so I don't have to talk to him.
we could all be married to you Dennis! Such a reasonable bloke is hard to find.
Vickiannette, I have just copied your comment to my wife.....................fortunately, the UK Communications Act prohibits me from publishing her response....lol
Old farts never change. Just continue your good relationship with your friend.
Well said. I really wanted to see my friend that day as I had bought her a guage for her knitting needles as she had said she has never owned one. Told her it was her Birthday present which isn't until August.
Perhaps you could suggest he takes a stand at a market and sell things for you or you could tell him that he would be welcome to share a stand with you. G
That is one of the things that I told him when he first asked ages ago. My friend said he wouldn't drag himself out of bed that early.
Tell him what you would charge for the time for set-up of his items, his part of the rent charged on space you paid for, transportation fees, extra insurance in case something should happen to his items, your percentage of the sales because of YOUR time to make the sale, tables needed to set his items on display or floor space to set his items on, should we go on. I think he would change his mind about you selling for him at Your Markets. Sometimes they just do not understand what it takes to have a market. Rest assured that you were right in telling him No, that would have just been the start of it.
Hugs, and blessed Markets, Max
I agree..it's a lot of work to do a market stall, people think it's just throw this on a table and collect money..You stand your ground..
I asked him if he would sell my stuff at any of the things that he goes to and he changed the subject.
