I would be a bit worried about missing parts...HOW does a new machine get sent out without the shank??
You should look up "included with this machine" parts list and make sure you have everything.
The sewing first (on this model and similar ones) is a good idea. It will help you become familiar with the beeps and other sounds. Read you manual and don't hesitate to ask for help.
You have pages of very nice embroidered items in Projects -- so I know you will be stitching in no time.
Well if it were me I would be far from happy and their comment of sew before you embroider sounds a cop out on their behalf. My machine will sew and embroider but I bought it to embroider with not to sew. Apologies if my comments offend they were not meant to
I hope you get the shank soon and are on your way to stitching. I agree that getting to know your machine first by sewing is a good idea. Then embroider some designs on the machine to get used to embroidering. The embroidery world and especially we Cuties are here for you. Ask questions and you will get answers. And we will celebrate with you when you are up and embroidering.
Hope you and your new machine will be happy. What model is he???. xx
And if in doubt, check with us Cuties. There will always be someone on here that will help out. Love Chris
P.S. I hope it doesn't take too long to get going.
And PLEASE REMEMBER----a GOOD repairperson is TRULY A JEWEL-----"factory trained" doesn't mean a thing to REAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!
