Hi , I keep all of my manuals in a loose leaf notebook 2-3 inches thick (as you can see I have many manuals ) . I slip each manual in a different
Page protector sheet and place in the notebook . I always know where my manuals are. ( I also have a notebook for my household manuals ) Hope this helps it works for me. Nancy
I'm lucky to have a large room in my house that did not need to be used for anything. My daughter has half the room for scrapbooking, which we put in a counter, which I use to do my cutting. There is also a large built in china cabinet, I have my photo albums of designs in the open sides and in the glass part of cabinet, I have all my manuals, supplies and all my large spools of metro thread ( no dust) YAH! I also have 3 cupboards above my sewing counter with my stabilizers, office supplies.Lots of plastic drawers on wheels for supplies.
I am fortunate to have a table with storage for my sewing/embroidery machine and another for my serger that my husband made for each machine. And he made them with shelves and drawers. So my manuals are right there with my machines.
I have a sturdy, kitchen Bakers Rack that I use next to my U-shaped desk. I have my back-up embroidery machine on the area intended (or large enough) for microwaves. I use the wine rack area to hold all my stabilizer rolls. The upper shelves work well for books, paper, and my clear shoe-box size containers. The bottom shelf has my printer. I also have a built-in shelf on the wall over my regular machine for all the books I need but don't need within easy reach. My U-shaped desk has an open credenza/shelf that has a designated space for CD's in addition to more space for books and printed patterns.
That said, I am looking for a better way to organize...
I too have a u-shaped desk. When I do get it organize you can bet I won't be adding NOTHING that's not needed, LOL ;D *2U
Ah now wondering just where mine are. Seriously I have a large unit that is stacked with box after box of stuff and a gap for the laptop and desk area, so my manuals are safe in a box on the unit somewehere to hand when required
I'm considering purchasing a used office desk with overhead credenza to store notebooks and manuals. There is an overhead light bar, too.
Sounds like you are onto a GREAT idea. I have a u-shaped desk with overhead storage but I have too many things that need to be stored somewhere else :( LOL *2U
I only have a few machines so my manuals and software fit in my computer desk drawer. I have seen an organizing tip about using pants hangers to hang manuals in the closet with blanks or from a shelf and using those clip-on cd storage for cars to store embroidery software...anywhere
This looks really good. However; other crafting items already claim the closet, LOL ;D *2U
