As a parent most of us use plastic cups...mixed forks n knives...BUT ITS A WHOLE NEW WORLD WHEN YOU ARE EMPTY NESTERS...This afternoon, I got glasses...who would think real glasses could make you soooo happy...and oh...new silverware that matches...I bought the good kind..not the ones that bend in the ice cream or the forks that have prongs going out each way...they are thick and sturdy and they match...

Just got off the phone with my daughter and she says my house is really looking pretty..looks like a home and not bare...she never considered it much of a homey place when she was here..you think....my floors are clean and stay that way...The sun is shinning and i am just soaring in my new life...

So for all those new parents out there...theres hop in the future.....

Next....CLOTH NAPKINS! (Actually we use those a lot as they are really easy to toss in the wash when there's only 2 of you eating! AND the reason napkin rings were used in years gone by was so you knew which napkin was yours & you used it several times. Of course for really messy, greasy meals we use paper!) I expect to see some napkins in projects made just for you! I bet like all of use you have tons of scraps to make some! Enjoy life! You deserve it!!

Wow, a whole new outlook on life! Dishes that won't disappear on camping trips without permission to leave the house? Who would think that could happen?

Haha - I got a glimpse of the feeling already - but then three grandsons
arrived on the scene - the eldest is "well educated" now but the smaller ones like to touch all my glass windows, doors, winter-garden windows,
not to forget the many mirrors I love in my house. However, still three
adult kids (students) and one husband are around to occupy me !
looking forward to further grandkids from 5 more children....but I am happy for you to enjoy all the sweet things in your house you've been longing for... Hugs Maria

I understand, camylow. When we moved I tried to get rid of some plastic cups and storage pieces. Poor hubby nearly had an attack of sorts when he thought he might have to do without his favorite cups; they ended up moving with us. However, the 25-year-old Corelle stayed behind in favor of some inexpensive stoneware.

Deanna I have to laugh at your new found life. You are just bubbling over with joy. After our children were gone I was surprised how much extra money we had left at the end of the month. Treat yourself and enjoy time off from the 24 hour job you had.
