Oh dear Cuties, I need to cry on someone's sholder.....

I think my son caused the embroidery arm to move when he carried the machine home from the shop with the arm attached!!!! Of course the whole thing was heavy so he was carrying it tilted and I'm sure it -banged and bounced- when he put it onto the car seat.... do I tell him......

In the pictures you can see how the stitches are not in line and my digitized picture (what do you call them??) shows that they are!

I did a test stitchout of the cartoon wedding design (is this the word??) and saw how it was off line so I did a second stitchout, again the same. I made a lined design like the printers print for allignment and it shows where
the off line occurs.

So do I have to lug the machine back to the states to take it to a better Brother dealer to get 'proper' maintenance??? Boo Hoo

Dolly, to me it looks more a question of stabilizing. The groom has gaps along the sides and the stitch direction is almost horizontal. Stitch direction for the bride is vertical and the gaps appear mostly at the bottom. Your square around the coupleis not square either, I'd try stitching it again with more stabilizer. What setting have you used for pull compensation? Increasing that slightly might solve part of the problem.
If it's a problem of the embroidery arm being bumped, the design would be off in it's entirety, or when the bump appears during embroidery only the colours after the bump would have moved.

Many thanks Mops, I'll try ironing the stabilizer onto the material and change the pull compensation and try again.

I don't know if you have resolved your problem yet. I do hope so. I moved my arm by accident once. I was so worried I caused damage but I shut the machine down sent the arm back to the position to remove it, then turned it back on and it was fine. Good luck, I know this is very stressful. Hugs, Susan

Oh, I am so sorry. I hope that one of the suggestions given will work for you. Please let us know how you are making out with it. I admit, I never move my embroidery arm out of my sewing room unless it is in its carry case.

This arm did not have a carry case, boo hoo, BUT it's my fault for not reminding my son to carry it in the bag!!!! Thanks 02kar.

You might want to try a different design too - one that you have successfully stitched out in the past on that machine. It could be the stabilizer/design/fabric combination for this design is causing your issue.

I have the Baby Lock Ellisimo Gold...If my embroidery arm gets moved our out of kilter...all I need to do is turn the machine off...remove the embroidery unit...reinstall the embroidery unit and turn the machine on again...the arm will recalibrate itself into the proper position...I would try to call your Brother dealer first before making the trip...perhaps they can help you over the phone...good luck...

This would be my first thought, too. While it's apart, just look in to see if there is anything to see! Rebooting works much of the time for so many things around the house. So sorry for all the frustration!

I like this answer best! Rebooting helps so many computerized things.

With small boys in and out of my room I never leave the machine on while not sitting at it... thanks ladies!

My shoulder is here...I am so very sorry! If I could afford it, I would bring you and your machine here (I have an excellent repairman) until all was well again.
Don't panic too much. I don't want to give you too much hope, but can you try again -- reducing the upper tension? It may be the repair changed enough of the physical tension setting that you need to adjust it on screen.
The issues I was told with moving the machine with the arm attached occur at the connection site -- meaning the embroidery arm would not connect properly and fail to send or receive commands. The way I understand it -- you would have major issues stitching at all.
I hope adjusting the tension will fix it.

Improper stabilization will cause that as well. Give it another try before you give up and return to the shop. Hugs. Nan W

Also, do you not have a carrying case for your embroidery arm? That is the best protection while traveling with it.

dollygk by dollygk 07 Jun 2013

So just try again, without doing anything?

cherylgauteng by cherylgauteng edited 07 Jun 2013

Not that I am an expert but what stabiliser did you use and what kind of fabric is it ? My entire machine is in one piece - not all machines have detachable embroidery arms. It is a Bernina 830, damned heavy and I can understand this maybe happening !

I have a Designer1 and a PR600 and I am able to calibrate by puching different functions on the touch screen, I don't know what machine you have , but I would check into this first before you take it anywhere.

Thanks Crosses, I've got the Brother 1500D, how would I do this??

crosses by crosses 07 Jun 2013

For each machine it was different. My dealer told me how to do it on my Designer1. The PR600 I found instructions on the yahoo group for this machine. If it isnt mentioned in your manuel then ask a dealer or check if there is a yahoo group for this machine. Most yahoo groups that are machine specific have very qualified moderators. I will check and see if I can find any information on this and get back to you.
