I have a wrap that is really thin, it is 100% Vicose. I bought it because the wedding we are attending is right beside the water so if it a bit cooler this I think will be ok. My question is this: I would like to dress it up with embroidery of some kind but because it is so thin I wonder how to do it. I know I need a brand new needle so it doesn't snag but what else should I know before I start & should it be a thinner design & what kind of stabilizer I was thinking I should use black interfacing is this right?

I agree with Anita...WSS on bottom and top...and a very light density design...Can you find something similiar at a fabric shop and buy a tad bit to test? I might take a look to see what was available at my local store...

I was just thinking a delicate design, like the ones they call "sketch designs" would be beautiful. I've never stitched anything so thin but I agree that a wss and a topper would be the way to go. It's so sheer I would treat it as if it was lace.

Yes a low stitch count would be preferably on thinner fabrics. I'm thinking an interfacing would make the wrap too stiff so maybe a couple layers of WSS and a topper to keep the flow of the soft fabric. The wrap will look pretty with some colorful lineart or low stitch count watercolor design.
