just wondering if anyone has just a plain -no sewing embroidery machine. I have a little Bernina 1230 for sewing and sold my big Ellisimo. But have discovered I really miss embroidery. I looked at the Brother VE 2200. This is just an Embroidery machine. Any thoughts??. It sells for a lot less than a 780 Bernina or an Ellisimo.

Yes, I originally got the Janome 300E, embroidery only machine, because I already had sewing machines. I never regretted it. I can sew quilt squares or something while the Janome is sewing out a design. Just my gut feeling, nothing to back it up, but I feel like the fewer bells & whistles any product has, the less can go wrong. I'd rather have it do one thing perfectly than several things with lots of changes and monkeying around and remembering which bobbin, etc. I have never had a thing go wrong with the 300E, except operator error. I don't know the Brother machine you're looking at, so check it out, but embroidery-only is the way to go for me. Good luck and hugs, Marji

The Baby Lock Spirit is a new embroidery only machine...it looks very nice...can't believe you sold your Ellisimo...I love mine, although I rarely actually sew on it...mostly only embroider!

Yes I do but its a PR650. I also have a Brother Galaxie3000 that can be used as a sewing machine as well as embroidery but I only use it for embroidery

Yes, I have a Janome 350E that I bought last year. It is embroidery only. I really like it. But then I also have a combo Janome 10000 sewing and embroidery combined. Plus I have a Kenmore (made by Janome) sewing machine and my serger. I use my 350E a lot and most time I have both machines going. My thought is if you miss embroidery go for it expecially if it is relatively inexpensive. Hugs, Mary
