There is a comment that this design looks more like barley than wheat. I did not try to make an exact rendering, but something that would look like ears of wheat.
Here are two pictures from Wikipedia. The first shows 2-row and 6-row barley, the second one wheat.
thanks for the pictures...as a southern "small town" girl, I know more about corn & cotton than wheat or barley...I did work with a Canadian who inspired me to cook beef barely soup in the winter!
TOTALLY awesome! I have been looking for a good wheat design with NO jumps, stitches beautifully!
Really appreciate the no jumps feature; TU:-)
I hate jumps and try to avoid them as much as possible. Not only do you have to clip the threads, there are all those tiny stitches at the beginning and end that anchor the stitches but form tiny knots.
I love wheat designs. You have made this so simple that it can be combined in so many ways. Thank you very much!
Thank you. From an old farm gal. Looks more like barley.
Wheat has very long whiskers that extend from ends of wheat shaft.
The size of design is perfect.
Just pretend it's a new breed of wheat where the growing energy has been placed in the grain rather than whiskers.
This is lovely, Martine! I can see using this on so many items. Thanks so much! And thanks to whoever requested it!
This is beautiful ! Thank you. I will enjoy making this once I get my machine back .
