A young buck. We have numerous does and fawns crossing our property daily--a path to 'somewhere', and we are inside city limits. Many , many deer in our area--this morning I saw outside my window here at the computer, a tiny fawn feeling frisky. Looked only a few days old. They eat our apples, tear up our little garden patch, and will totally demolish a car if you happen to hit one.
oh Deer really. what country do you live in? do you have a fence, we do and he still got in some how....
Wow! Kerry what a magnificent animal. I'm so glad that the Deer visits you. I've got some friends who live in Wollongong and they had Deer drop into their garden from time to time down from the mountain range. They now live in a beautiful unit right on the beach front and of course don't see them anymore.
Love Chris
Yes Chris I am still thinking about him, 3 days later. I would love for him to return, but my husband said he heard dogs barking in the direction he went into the forest...hope he is still safe...a beautiful experience for both of us and the cat....he is the cheeky one of our 4 cats to...
Kerry, he's a beautiful animal. It is certainly good of you to grow tomatoes for him and I'm sure he'll be back for his next snack, or to roust out the cat. ;)
Oh yes I found his foot prints in a few of my gardens, I was more worried about my flowers I am trying to get up for spring...
OH, what a wonderful experience! These pictures make me all the more anxious to get home next year to our back yard where there are deer and other wildlife to see. It is so nice of you to grow the yummy tomato plants for him.
I even let him stand in the garden to pick the tomatoes...that's a no no for anyone else....
He has some small horns that will become antlers so more than likely he is old enough to be on his own. Bucks are usually solitary and he looks healthy. May return for more of you delicious garden. That is a cute face.
We wondered how old he must have been, I would love him to return. Husband thought of ringing the zoo's to see if they wanted him. I just wanted him to be free.
Kerry very cute. Lucky my eldest D and Hubby didnt see it. They hunt deer at blackbutt ....Well not actually hunt but hunt them out for fun.. Hope this little fella has found Mum and is snuggled up under a tree safe :)
yes Pauline other friends hunt them here also think it was for sport..other friends get them culled off their cattle property so they don't eat all the cattle food..hate the thought of them being killed for sport tho...I just sent these photos through to my daughter so the little girls could see him and they were so glad to see him. They cannot wait to see the video that will be on Saturday...
How sweet. Great pics. He looks a bit like a unicorn, with the angle his head is on.
