I have this big piece of foam backed vinyl Can anyone tell me if they have ever embroidered on something like this & if so any special tips I should know about? Any ideas on what I can do with it?

If it is similar to some material I have (soft and pliable), it will be GREAT for small ITH purses, cell phone bags, coasters, or similar projects. Do not hoop as it easily will hoop burn; use an open design (no satin or fill stitching); and sew/embroider using a fine (75/11) sharp or leather needle.

Foam can be very sticky so try a redwork design on a small piece to see how it goes,.

To embroider on it, use a very open design like a redwork and of course you cannot unsew it as each needle stab makes a hole. Good luck. Hugs. Nan

Hmmmm, I think it would be good for backing coasters, kid's placemats, bibs. You would probably need to use less dense designs because I am guessing it will tear easily. I suggest you take a small piece and see how it stands up to a redwork design. Let us know what you decide to do with it.

what size is it? Maybe add some pockets and make some sort of hanger thing for the door
