Suedewsbury's Baby Elephant-This is like the pink one, I made my g-daughter.However, Sue added a square basting stitch on the design, to hold the fleece down and help you align the 2 pieces, so the placement stitches wouldn't show. I will post photos of the steps, for the ones like me, who haven't made a stuffie before. The first 3 photos are ,of course, the finished baby pacifer holder.#4-This is the first stitchout. You take it completely out of the hoop and trim.(Read Sue's instructions on her design) Now rehoop another stablizer and place fleece on top, making sure you have REVERSED the design,as this sews the other side of your elephant.#5 After you emb the 2nd half, place the ribbon for the tail (I taped mine in place at the rear, with the length of it folded up inside and pinned in place, making sure it was out of the stitchout area.)Now place first half on top of the one still in the hoop.Align square. At this point it doesn't sew around the leg area, but it does sew the trunk.I left my pins in place BUT i was careful to stop stitching when I got close, to pull them out! You do however you feel comfortable.#6,7,8 showing trimming #9-I am sewing the small 4x4, so the ears are done in a seperate hooping #10-left ear trimmed, right one trimmed and turned #11-I hand sew my ears on before I stuff the body, because I seem to have better control. I don't stuff my ears,themselves.12-Lastly, I stuff and fill/sew my baby up!.....I hope these photos are helpful. Please refer to Sue's instructions, but sometimes we need visuals.LOL....ps. the heart design does not come with Sue's baby.It was a design I had filed as 3 layer heart, no other info provided.

Read about Sue and her designs at this link but scroll to the bottom to join her facebook group. It is my understanding, for a donation to hospice, all designs are then accessed free. I am not on Facebook but I will put the link above as it won't let me do it here.

There is a donation for each design. The group on facebook is Engineered in stitches.

Thank you for all your visuals. I am definitely a visual person but also reading directions. Sometimes both have me loopy and finally the old brain clicks in. Cute little fella.

Do we re-download the file to get the basting?
You see, I sewed my finger when my hands were the basting stitches because I didn't sew out the upper body outline on my third elephant!
(Saw the doc on Tues and he said that it's healing. I go back in a few weeks to see if it's gone wrong in the blood vessel department! For now my bandage is in the way of typing.:)) YOUR PRODUCTIONS ARE GREAT! Thanks for all the pics.

I am not sure if Sue has posted the updated file, maybe pm her, to get it-Sorry about your finger, know that hurts. When I worked in a sewing factory, the girl next to me sewed her finger, jammed in the machine and the mechanics had to come get it out. She was bleeding and her hand was just jumping up and down. Those machines sounded like Harley motorcycles and sewed about as fast. I hemmed over 340 pair of mens swimtrunks a day!

joansatx by joansatx 09 Aug 2013

O my! I can imagine the sound of the room! I watch
Bizaare ER and they add animation where they don't have real camera video. I'm imagining your co-worker on the show...eek. That must've been horrible to be there and not make it all right again.... bless you. As always, your postings are a pleasure. Thank you.
