I have been taking sewing classes this week from my Porcelain doll teacher. She comes over to my house (I'm not driving yet) every day this week & brings all her supplies She has an industrial sewing machine with I think 10 spots for thread (it might even be more) WOW. anyway I digress with her help I have made bloomers (easy) for each of my dolls & will be making them each a new dress too. This is Giggles & hers it the first dress & it was not really as hard as it looks the dress is all made (except the sleeves)& then the hem line is marked & stitched so that it has a perfect (well almost) scalloped hem on the whole dress. I can't tell you the name of the design because it is made by her & for her business only. It is a very pale yellow dress difficult to see in the picture but a better show of colour with the bloomers. The hem is done in just 2 hoopings. The dress is just a bit big for her but its the one that I chose & I'm afraid to take it in as the hem will get messed up. So this is the way it will stay. I can wash it to shrink but too nervous to do that too. I messed up the button holes & only used one layer of stabilizer so they are puckered.

Isn't it funny how you can look at something and see the flaws, and the rest of us look at the SAME thing and see the beauty? I'm seeing a lot of this today. You have a very beautiful project here. Be proud of it! I think it is perfectly adorable.

Great job - I taught Porcelain Doll Making when I had a shop back in the 1980's - still have all my dolls, but alas they are without clothes - had a dressmaker that dressed all our dolls when we had classes ... should really get them all out and make the effort to put some clothes together.
Yours look great - always enjoyed the hobby... we did reproductions. Hugs Glenda x0x0x

I do she is a really lovely lady & I am having so much fun. She is a very patient teacher as I have to have instructions given to me in small doses & sometimes repeated too. She is very kind to do this with me Free. I am grateful., Hugs & ** 4U 2 :~}

well I can cut the patterns out just fine & I am ok with putting them together for the most part but the scallops that was totally new to me & I hope that I can repeat it on my machine too.
