You might as well laugh. Our language is funny, we are funny.
Hmmmm......we had to wean the High School students off corn cobs when we ran a boarding school in Papua New Guinea many years ago and the new toilet block was built ...... :}
AlmaG.
LOL. Be sure to "wipe clean" the bobbin area when the job is done.
My grandparents told of using the Sears and Roebuck catalog in the outhouse. I went into my great-grandfather's outhouse before I was old enough to go to school and they had a two-seater. I'm sorry, but I STILL don't get that!
I have sewn on toilet paper....
Thanks for the laugh and for bringing up those memories.
I guess if you had a really big family you couldn't be shy about those things...LOL
Muffy :)
I think a 2 seater was supposed to be the best! I guess you didn't have to wait for someone to finish?? I hated any of them! Was always sure a spider would bite me!! Thankfully the only time I had to use one was when we visited in the country!
For those times when the whole family came rushing home and argued for the toilet. Back then, families were big.
I have to wonder what Sears and Roebuck folks thought about how their catalog was used. I remember getting one every year, back in the day. They were enormous.
Yep, when you say it that way! Lol! good for you to stitch on TP. I have yet to try it, although there is an adorable RW design somewhere I liked.
My Dad always used to ask me: -
"Which hand do you use to wipe your bottom? " and of course I'd always say my right hand.
Then he'd say - "Oh! I use toilet paper!" and I'd always crack up with him. He got me every time when I was young!
Love Chris
P.S. I've never sewn on toilet paper either.
yes I have heard that line before too Chris. I was talking about growing strawberries to a male friend one day and I told him I put cow poo on my strawberries. Of course he said "I put cream and ice cream on mine" He has never let me live it down...
I think it is an Aussie thing. I've had both questions asked of me by senior members of my family when I was younger.
When I was a child we had newspaper torn up an hung on a nail. It was really special if you got tissue paper that apples were wrapt in . ha ha.
Oh no even I remember the apples wrapped in pink tissue paper, oh the memories......
"I saw" is what I should have said.....guess it still cracked me up....
