that looks like the floor of MY family room!!! I have until Thursday to get it sorted - before my husband comes home
what is a actil square?
It is the square cut from the corner of a sheet being made into a fitted sheet. I embroider on them and make into quilts
I have Actil squares also. I've used them to make embroidered tissue box holders and the fabric is brilliant for that. The squares all call for embroidery but who in the world has enough time to do all that stitching!!! I've seen a quilt made from Actil squares - very attractive but after a person has been bitten by the Embroidery Bug that quilt appeared to be very plain.
What's the betting you pack them all up again, probably in their colour families, and put them all back from where they came...... :}
Been there, done that!!
Are you doing all right otherwise????
AlmaG.
I think of it as a treasure trove revisiting friends you forgotten you had
been there done that lol you will get it don't worry just keep going one piece at a time hugs
I NEED TO DO THAT ALSO...just don't want to..takes time doesn't it...how are you guys doing?
I have to sort and resort my fabric, I forget what is there, especially the smaller pieces. It is great if you always use the same size, for me I cut off a strip and the rest of the strip goes into many differnent piles that again need to be sorted..... "Oh bother" as pooh would say
Yep, that's what happens when you start sorting out things. But hey, I bet sometimes you will be surprised of all the things/designs/fabric that you did'nt know anymore that where lying there somewhere ! Keep on going !
Much work now, so much easier down the road when you can find things.
Keep on; you'll get it done!! My sewing room looks like a jumble fabric shop! I so truly need to get it organized; gotta quit procrastinating! I will enjoy stitching more, when I do!!
Hugs, Angel
It's OK, one by one they will get done. So just keep going and soon they will all be sorted and where they should be. That is until you start pulling out a piece here and there for a project.
Will be worth it in the end. I use it as therapy. If I am stressed I sort my boxes of materials, iron all the squares, fold them and sort them in colour or designs. Love it and come always across things I had forgotten about!
Also an inspiration of future projects. (And yes I have masses too at least thirty boxes!!)
See those pretty blue ones in the box near the front of the picture, I've got some like that too and in navy and a navy print! I should do something with them some day! Love Chris
I need to do what your doing, but I know it's not easy, but in the end it will be better and you'll know what you have:) Hang in there!
