I wanted to keep the embroidered part inside a 5x7 hoop. If you don't mind using a sewing machine you can skip the last colour and make the border (or borders) as wide as you want.

Nice...love the metallic border frame...

Truly stunning, it just jumps off the fabric with the metallic threads....

Thank you. I made many a square or heart-shaped pincushion the same way, so why not a hexagon. Might put a different design in.
