Tips for Embroidering on Cards
1. Choose a design that is not dense. Redwork and applique make incredible cards as well as designs under 10,000 stitches
2. Choose a font that is thicker. The constant pounding of the needle makes a huge undesirable difference.
3. Use a smaller needle like 70. Check in your manual and see if you need to manually thread that size needle.
4. Slow your machine down to 350.
5. Hoop heavyweight cutaway stabilizer. Spray card stock with adhesive spray. Smooth card on top and press out any air bubbles if necessary.
6. Always do a trace around your card before stitching to make sure the design covers your card and adjust if necessary.
7. Don't be afraid to go all out. Seek the WOW factor when choosing designs and colors.
8. Use metallic and specialty threads for that extra special card.
9. Strategically place small chocolates around your sewing area.
10. Do not leave your machine while stitching as with any projects.
11. Completely and totally enjoy your project. This is sew much fun!
Here is the photo of my first attempt at card embroidery.
12. Cut a smaller piece of cardstock and glue to the inside to cover up the thread on the back of the stitching.
Very nice! Could you please share some tips? I'd love to try that. Thanks!
I'll add my comment right under my original post! Just give me a few minutes to add it!
It is really nice with the glitter, well done. Hugs & ** Loralye
For the glitter? No. I just used a small amount of glue and sprinkled my glitter on. Just like we used to do in grade school!
