I admire anyone who pieces the blocks and then quilts. This is so nice-Toogie
thank you specialy for the extra two photos.a good way to use up scraps and end up with an easy to make quilt, hugs ursula
I cut 3,1/2" squares which made a 9"lock before it is cross cut
Looking thru my stash too. Can I ask what size you cut them as the ones that I do are 7" blocks . Great as I embroider on the plain ones (cnrs) but this time I need to make smaller blocks. Does 5 1/2 " - 6" sound about right ? Love your choice and placement of colours. Regards Ros
Many thanks for the design! The quilt looks wonderful, and the extra pics make it very clear. I was making it way too hard to piece!
This is a terrific disappearing 9 patch, & you did a great job stippling it too. Hugs & ** Loralye
love your 2 color dis. 9-patch what a wonderful use of scaps comes together real nice, good luck with the stippels it is a forgiving pattern to quilt 8-)
Looks fabulous the dark to light is fantastic. I am waiting patiently for the postman to arrive with it shouldn't take long I am in brissy....hahaha! Love it. hugs Sally
This quilt you've done is quite lovely& these varying colors are striking too. Wondering about how long you've accumulated the fabrics? Thanks for sharing your project.:~D
I have been quilting for a long time ,since 1985,some have been given to me by my daughter as well
Well,it must be a delight to see all the fabrics put together to make a lovely quilt. Wondered if you did the stippling with embroidery machine or perhaps a long arm machine?
I must take a picture of it all finished ,I used my janome 6600 with the pogo foot ,I would love to have a long arm ,but alas I don't .....
This is so pretty, the best nine patch that I have ever seen, well done. Heather
Go to Top of the Class, this is fantastic. Truly eye catching, I will have to show this to a good friend of mine she does lots with the nine patch and see if she has done this one....love it.
its so easy , just make a 9 patch with the same colour in the corners and a contrast in the center, I used up all my white tone on tones for the other squares, press , then cut through the center,
opps sorry I forgot to say after you have cut them ou turn the 2 opposites' to the center
Where was the white in the 9 patch? Chan you show me a picture? I really like how you did this. I have done several but, they never came out with all one color surrounding most of the blocks. Please share how you did it.
Good job! The neatest thing about the disappearing 9 patch is that you can arrange the blocks any way you want, from a precise pattern to wild abandonment. And it all looks good.
I have done the disappearing 9 patch before and mine looked nothing like this. Guess I will have to make some more blocks and try rearranging them in this manner, it's very pretty. Nice work. hugs, Susan
I have made one just using 2 fabrics ,and it was so different, I gave it to a cancer group to raffle ,and they were delighted with it
Wow it s terrific! My nine patch doesn't do anything! It still needs put together.
I love how you used the colours in the 9-patch, the effect is great!
some times I get to caught up in arranging the blocks ,this time I just thought of doing s colour wash ,and didn't get to precious in placement .except for the bright pink in the middle it all works ,Thanks
Beautiful quilt. Are you FMQ ing? I like to do that --it is so relaxing. And quick for charity quilts.
