My husband plays guitar. So I embroider hands towels for him to use on stage. He gets pretty sweaty under all the lights. He has also requested me to embroider dress shirts for his band. I embroidered the front with the band's name and the member's name. On the back was a design and the band's name. They really turned out nice Susan
My darling husband (DH), not duh, ;) let me practice on all of his car towels when I first started, then his t-shirts, then his good shirts. I have monogrammed lots of hobby related things. He flies remote control airplanes competitively. The only place I was told I could not embroider was on his undies. I'm O.K. with that. ;)
Well, I've seen some funny "undie" designs....I'd do a pair and see what he says!
My husband loves to feel special. I bought two very cheap fleecy 1/4 zip tops for him to try out the Handyman design from EmbLibrary a long time ago, put his name underneath the designs and embroidered both tops. He almost lives in them, only pulling out one of his good sweaters if he thinks I'm aware of his sneaky intentions when he dresses to go out to lunch. I've threatened to embroider hearts on his undiedaks but the reponse was a positive negative.... can't think why .... :}
AlmaG.
Oh.. I forgot .... I have embroidered his initial on bath-towels and we call them our Posh Ones. He'll pull them out before any of the other towels are used. He was also very pleased to have Christmas coasters made for his mates at the wood-turning club one Christmas - and took all the praise for same.
I also digitised and made him two eye-glasses cases with his name in a banner near the top and his phone number near the bottom. Very quick, very easy. He loves them.
My handsome hubby had me embroider a small table cloth as part of the display for his 71 Mustang Mach 1. That was the most unusual for me to embroider for him.
This was touched on by other cuties, but I embroidered my husband's initials on a hand towel in the color of his car. He was pleased to have this to keep in his car for those times when he needs a towel. Our sons then wanted a set for their cars.
I have embroidered on a couple of my husbands shirts. One was his bowling shirt that had a hole because the puppy had chewed it. I covered the hole with a bowling pin design. Another shirt had a hole in the sleeve from the same dog, and I covered the hole with a design that coordinated with his work.
My husband loves eagles and wild animals. He has them on his shirts and jackets.
Thanks, I'll have to show all these to my husband so he won't feel singled out!!! I'll start slow with him!
Lots of Father's Day t-shirts with Dad sayings. Towels, Apron, Christmas decorations, Blankets...
My husband is a Vol. Fire person so I have embroidered the emblem on several shirts and sweatshirts. I also have done the Methodist cross on a couple of sweatshirts. Also when he got a new truck I did some designs on small towels that he keeps in it.
My husband wanted me to embroider his name on his tennis tracksuit: later I embroidered the tracksuits of all the tennis players in his team.
My husband belongs to the VFW and they are a very active group. I wanted to practice embroidery so I started making hat holders for their uniform type hats. On the outside I emb. designs appropriate to their branch of the service or other patriotic designs I find. I donate these to the men and they all love them. New members come in and always ask how they can get one. So I am still doing it.
Also, I have made my husband a winter scarf and emb. two hearts entwined at the bottom edge.
So far all I've made and/or embroidered on for my husband are neckties, t-shirts, sweatshirts, golf towels, costumes (halloween & fund-raisers), aprons and BBQ Grill covers. I've only done one hat (wish it were easier to fasten them to the hoop for the home machines, because I would like to do more of them.)
Yes, I did a big lionhead on the back of a shirt, and a sport-figure on his sportshirt. I even made him a BBQ apron
and a made a BBQ apron for my son, and for a friend ,and I did a scarf with the embossed initial for 2 friends
Thanks. My son let me make him an apron and I have done some towels (which don't really count) for men. I have lots of manly designs but not sure if anyone will like them.
