STILL issues with my Brother 780D----in 3 years it has been to 4 repair persons----latest and continuing issue---top tension has to be cranked up to 7.2---normal setting on computer is 4--maximum is 8---and it STILL makes loops on the top--some on bottom---last repair person sold me a cast iron thread stand to settle down my Floriani thread----helps a little but not enough----she also messed with the screws on the bobbin case----now it is worse than before--SOOOO--has the bobbin case tension slipped back to what it was before she supposedly fixed it?????----or what I am thinking is maybe I need a TOTALLY NEW bobbin case----I have done EVERYTHING---those who have read my previous posts can attest to that---bobbin genies, needles, bobbin threads, just EVERYTHING---so it is leading me to think I may need a totally new UNADJUSTED bobbin case----if that doesn't work it is off to another repairperson about an hour away---since I just completed foot surgery and have 3 weeks left in a wheelchair and about 2 months to learn to walk AGAIN---it will be at least November before I get to the repairperson an hour away who is supposedly good and brags about how well he does his job--time will tell--any ideas are welcome---God bless all you Cuties.

Are you in the States? Did you call the brother hot line. The number is on the brother-usa website. You can send it to tennessee to the refurbishing center and from there it has to come back good. Jill will take care of you. My machine is named after her son! They operators will try to walk you through some steps, tell them you want it to go to repair! They will want to refer you to the local repair... tell them you want it to go to the Tennesee repair center. Enough is enough! After all you have gone through, they should pay the shipping to and from the center. I doubt they will, however you can ask!

Definitely call Brother directly and talk to them about the issue. They should stand behind their machines and do the right thing.

Sounds to me like your machine needs to go back to Brother at the dealer's expense...and they should give you a new bobbin case...one that they haven't 'TWEAKED' with...or your dealer should replace your machine with a new one...all built in designs should stitch out seamlessly and perfect...if they don't you need a new machine...don't let any more water flow under that bridge...you need action NOW. Perhaps you should contact Brother directly...and, hopefully, all of the repair work is documented so they can see how many problems you have had...

Thanks--the dealer went out of business--lack of customer service and AWFUL "repair person"--and it is out of warranty---but I think you are right about contacting Brother directly--and yes I do have all work documented!!!!
Thank you and God bless you!

Have any of these repair shops done a stitch-out for you? I would want to see the machine test stitched (with an actual filled design) before I paid another dime. You have been through too much with your machine! I do hope something or someone can fix it -- soon!

The last 3--yes---one even had me bring the machine in and we went over different designs====conclusion--don't do small designs or letters-even the ones built in---they just make the loops under neath because they are TOO SMALL---then she messed with the bobbin case--and told me to crank up the top tension and use the thread stand---it still did not do a lot of good---and the answer was--I don't know what else to do----and I'm scared to mess with the bobbin tension with a screw driver----so I will just keep playing until I am back on my feet in Nov and can take it to the NEXT shop!!Thank you and God bless you!!
