I find it interesting that many of the older designs by cuties always come back to the top. xx
I have seen those trends as well. Some of us can only post in 3 sections. I have no desire to digitize since I really want to stitch, I may someday, however for now I have to make requests sometimes to see my projects to completion.
I have had those thoughts as well. I do take a look through projects occasionally, but since time is limited, just can't do it all and have stitching time too! Hugs. Nan
I too had noticed how the creativity has evolved with designs. I think it is wonderful. Thank you to all that have designs on this sight. I make most items for donations, so free designs are appreciated, and I can have so much fun embroidering them out-so I did not pursue digitizing, even though I have the program. So a beautiful star to all that contribute to this sight.
Did you also notice that outlines are no longer the norm on designs. I often think of that. I also notice how designs are so much more beautiful. Can you imagine how elaborate the designs will be in 5 years time...now how can they improve I wonder, all is extremely good now.
Every so often I just click on a large number page to see what designs were done then...
Sue, I have thoroughly enjoyed this website!
Having about 2 -3 years of membership has left me with a wealth of embroidery knowledge. Thank you!
Warm Hugs, Bonnie
Interesting post Sue. I found Cute at about the same time as you. At that time I wrote out by hand the people that were on the site each day. Since reading your post, I have looked at my list and it is sad to see that only a few now come on to the site. Thank you for being an "old stager".
Sarah
I found you Cuties in early 2011 and was struck as to how friendly and helpful everyone was...glad to see that somethings don't change...Cute has become a part of my daily routine and I feel I know many of you as if we were neighbors...I guess I would say cyber neighbors...
I joined in the later part of 2008 or very early 2009. I read all the posts that I could and quietly tried to figure out how to use the site. While I no longer just sit quietly reading and learning, I still enjoy most -- the quiet giving of flowers.
I wish that I had the time to post everyplace and for every post I read. I give flowers for each post I read. It used to be that I could comment on every post -- but there are so many more Cuties now and so many more posts and sadly, my Cute time has become limited.
You are so right about the projects! I think the lessons from the "old stagers" have improved the projects from the newbies. Now, it seems, all the projects are awe inspiring and very well done!
I too miss so many of the Cuties that are no longer with us.
At the same time, I love seeing the growth and projects from the newer Cuties.
Cute has become my online family. Most important to me -- Cuties are my friends. Some of you have become quite dear to me.
As for your observation -- I also wonder why some Cute members only post in a single area...the mysteries of it all.
Many of your on-line family have come to rely on your technical knowledge as well!
I am happy I can help! Cuties help me in so many ways. I am only too glad I can help in some way.
Aah! dear Rescuer, I'm so thankful too that you are on here to help with all of those difficult computer questions. Love Chris
I joined in 2009 when my husband was deployed for 6 months. I was so grateful for Cute filling in many of those very lonely hours. I have watched so many names disappear and so many new ones come in. I have loved sharing and caring and praying with and for so many over these years. Cute has become so much more than embroidery for me. I miss the embroidery questions but still enjoy the social connection. And I enjoy giving flowers to everyone. I grieve when there are disagreements and cheer when we pull together to heal. Yes, Cute has become a part of my routine and Cuties a part of my life.
I know that there are many members here who are alone and really love the cyber company.
Sue, I found Cute about the same time as you did. I prefer to sit back and enjoy as I was totally new to embroidery at that time. I am sure there are more like me who just like reading and learning and trying to keep up with everything and everybody. I love this site and usually come here daily. Just wanted to let you know how much each of you touch my life. Betty
Hi Sue, 'though I haven't visited the early pages, I too have noticed that there are lots of new names replacing many other older members. I wondered if once the craft of embroidering becomes easier it is no longer necessary to ask questions.
It seems that there are plenty of questions although it is frustrating that not everyone comes back to see the answers!
Same to me (1st membership Dec 2008).
I cannot post in DbC cause I cannot digitize ;o) Travelling in all other categories when I have the time. Have seen so many cuties come and go - feel very old sometimes but I'm still here *lol*
Greetings, Bettina
PS: Don't know why my name was cutted. So I have to use my most beloved edit-button ;-)
Definitely one of the old stagers! Take care with those somersaults though.
Many people download designs from DBC and post comments with the designs, but never seem to visit the rest of the site.
sure would be nice to know where the designs came from, so many I would like to have.
