I love this idea! Last year, at the bazaar I sold at, TP was the very first thing I sold out of. It went to dad/grandpa//uncle gifts. :) The kids loved it!
Sue, I have done many of these for people and for bazaar last year. They make such a novel present. I find RW does well, although some patterns that I thought were too heavy worked fine.. There is a design with a butler holding the TP on plate, that was a freebie from a site I don't remember as it was 2 years ago, that really gets a laugh. Have fun!
Very pretty!!! I have a couple I have done in my bathroom. They are certainly a novelty item, lol!
What stabilizer do you use for this? I'm curious on how to hoop it without destroying the TP. I have a sister who has "everything she needs" and is hard to buy for or make anything for. This would be something she definitely doesn't have. Lol
I find that a light cutaway or a heavy tearaway stabilizer works just fine. Just be sure to trim it even with the edges of the TP when it is done, so it blends beautifully.
I used my usual tear-away. Fold the end sheet of the roll under and then repeat so that you have a neat triple thickness and pin that to the stabiliser to keep it still. I removed the pins once the stitching was well on the way beacause this design comes quite close to the edges. Trim the stabiliser awy level with the tp.
DBS has a 4x4 RW crown today on Facebook and that goes with "the throne"!
I love redwork and this is wonderful way to festive up the bathroom quickly. You should sell several as this is very pretty!
This is so fun...pretty TP! Now you'll have us all searching through our similar files!
looks great, but I also always wonder is it for decoration only, and what if people use it when you have it in the toilet? Somehow I prefer a kind of decoration around the roll you can keep, and place the toiletpaper inside. But you did a lovely job!
Of course it is for decoration!I did it too once and wrapped it in plastic folie.
just put the design on felt strip and cut to size to go around tt and add a piece of sticky. Then wrap around your roll of tt. They are called tt wrappers.
I have to ask and I don't mean to be rude in any way but what is the story behind stitching on tp? Is it meant to be something decorative that sits in the bathroom or do people remove the outer layer and use the rest? I've never heard it explained....thanks!
it's a novelty item, just for fun to display not for personal use. There are a lot of funny jokes and sayings you can put on them, Check goodies by gail.com She has many
They are a silly gift for the person who has everything! They are so quick to do that you can conjure one up for any occasion.
I've seen some designs before but never with a chance to ask about the designs. Thanks for answering :-)

What are people willing to pay for a decorated roll of tp? Just curious,
