How about bone shaped stockings ?I always put up my doggies stockings. You can add a few treats in them. Or blankie's,Our animal shelter loves that they get scarves, blankets, and little bags with treats to go along with each adopted pet..
WOW.... Thank you all for the wonderful ideas. Now I need to get busy. ((Hugs)) and flowers for everyone.
I thought this was the most clever thing I had seen in quite awhile.
tote bags with some of basketkase (Vicki's) designs about spaying/neutering or other dog/cat related items embroidered on them.
I made those little zip coin bags of dogs and kitties that sold really well and they stitch up so fast you can make dozens. Just get your zippers cheap! People marveled at them! They easily sold for $8 each.
Since you are close to Christmas, use Christmas fabric and sew long tubes -usually about 1 1/2 " wide & 24-30" long. These slip over the dogs regular collar and look like a gathered/ruffled collar. I usually had sew a few jingle bells on. I hope you can envision what I am describing. Most dog people love these for thier dog.
I saw that Martha stewart has a lot of nice ideas for pets!!
Great flow going on ideas, I will add doggie treat bag. Natural shampoo and helpful care items.

Also bookmarks and eye glass cases. You can personalize collars for the winner(s) after the auction.
Hankies with redwork embr in the corner, pocket key fobs, lanyards, tote bags, dog bandanas, coasters, dog bowl placemats (non-slip), aprons (Chef to the ??? for e.g.), cushions (Dogs have owners, cats have staff?), soft toys for animals or humans, with or without squeakers. Tea towels with Basketkase/Vicki's design about neutering or spaying if you have it? If you wanted to do something bigger for auction etc you could do a quillow out of 2 layers of polar fleece, sewn together at top edge, knotted around other 3 sides to hold layers together and with a pocket on one side to fold it all into (or to insert feet into if it's chilly). Plastic bag holders to hook onto dog lead handles with a caribeena clip. Framed embroidery, animal related or even printed up 'Rules According to Dogs' etc. Could also print and laminate them. Bookmarks.
Tissue holders and penciltoppers are always nice quick thing to make.
