I'm going insane(r). My big desktop was getting slow so I decided to do a recovery. Well, the driver for my ethernet card didn't install. Took the card out and put it back, said I could go online to look for a driver. DUH So called tech support at the provider. He suggested a USB to ethernet adapter. Closest one is 4 days out. So on my little netbook. Last night it crashed - BIG TIME.

So been all morning getting it back to where I can at least do my daily stuff. Good thing I'm off today! It's now12:24 where I am and this is the first site I've accessed. And baby herfe is getting hot again!

I will not let it beat me.

Yuo go girl! I can't deal with that stuff anymore! I am running an old machine and just created a mirror drive in case of total meltdown! Lol! My cousin is attempting to put it into another machine to see if I am fully backed up. It is the operating system and all my embroidery software (older) that I hope to support for a few more years.

You can get a driver online using your Netbook and a USB drive. You just need to know the name of your Ethernet card and do a Google search. No need to buy anything new that will also need a driver.
Your computer must have been in really bad shape. As a computer tech... we rarely do recovery. Only in cases where the operating system is too corrupted to save.
Purchase a good anti-virus program like Kaspersky or Eset and then be very careful getting Freebies.

That's just it. Don't know.. Or I would have done just that. But the adapter is on the way and only $15. Can't complain. And then don't have to worry about it.

I tried a "repair" but wasn't happy. So figured to start totally fresh. I guess this is about the 3rd time I've had to do a recovery. First time on this computer. Agree, avoid if possible.
