Have to have a matching Burpie. I saw a small burpie like this on OPW & I thought I would try the skinnier size, this uses less fabric as it is sewn up @ the back. Which do you like better? The smaller one is more absorbent since the sides have been folded over but the larger one has more coverage? I think the rickrack would have looked good on the dolphin one too.

I like the blue the best. They are both very nice tho. I love the fabrics you chose. I've sewn the baby design before and it makes for a really cute burp cloth.
I'm working on some burp cloths but not done with them to share. Aren't they fun to do!!!

They look great! I did some a little different - instead of straight down, narrower at the middle so as to fit on the shoulder better and then I made them two different lengths.

These things are new to me. Did not have them back in my babies time. LOL Just used a nappy. I like both of them, but the wider one would most likey be the best. Hugs Shirley

I agree, the wider one wins for me. You can add a layer if you want better protection, I suppose. Love the designs too.

I prefer the wider one as you never know where babies will spit.

I like the wider one, for more coverage. And I think it would dry faster when washed, because it wouldn't be as thick. Cute fabrics.

I never thought of that but your right of course it would dry faster & new moms & dads have no extra time. Thanks Hugs & **

Our daughter's esophagus wasn't finished forming at birth so she had projectile vomiting. I prefer the more coverage ones but like the size of the skinner one as it would sit on the shoulder better. There really isn't any right or wrong way on the size just a preference.

Such pretty fabric. I also fold the ends back, but sew a piece of the flannel in between the ends-about the size of the front part between the stitches-(4-5"?), so it's not quite so skinnym, and the design back is covered. Then I put the bands on both ends. More absorbant is nice, but a lot of spit ups come fast, and wouldn't have time to sink in before continuing off the side.

well sounds like you put a little bit of both of them together to make one. I will have to think about this. Thanks Jo. Hugs **

You don't add to the sides? or I am missing it?

When I get my external hd hooked up, I'll find and pm you some links to some tutorials. Pretty sure I got my ideas from one of them.
