That is such a beautiful part of the country, the mountains are just magestic and so green with trees and wildflowers. My DFIL was from that area and he always called it God's Country!;)
What a great name Sweetwater is, conjures up all sorts of beautiful images. Enjoy your trip, i'm green with envy. hugs n roses, M
You ARE close! About 1 hour away. Where have you decided to head to tomorrow? Hopefully it's the Smokies. If you've never been to Cades Cove, it's worth it. But need to get there early in the morning as the traffic gets heavy. Wish I could take you on a tour if you haven't been there. Be sure and get the self guided tour book at the beginning of the loop. We were there in April & saw 4 bears...one right on the road. Lots of deer & turkeys. We didn't get out of the car to see the bears! Took the road to the Primitive Baptist Church...which few take...and there was a mama bear & 2 babies!
Knoxville. Near Alcoa Hwy & Maloney Rd. I tell people I went to Young High...then they ask where's that. Well, it's now Krogers on Chapman! Shows my age!
Maybe one day I'll get back to the States for another travelling holiday, I just loved my last two visits, fond memories, hugs M
