I made my daughter's Alice in Wonderland costume for Halloween this year. One of the best things about it, besides that she is so adorable, is that I used my stash for most of it. 7 1/2 yards of fabric, the gold buttons, the ribbon in her hair, all from my stash! The pattern, Simplicity 2325 was purchased on a great sale and so were the trims. We purchased the white rabbit online to complete the look.

The rabbit hole! (Ok, it might be where we are about to plant new shrubs in the backyard.) You can see she's standing on the new stamped concrete.

Sewmom, you have a beautiful daughter wearing a beautiful dress! You did an amazing job! I'll have to save this post to show my husband the next time he side eyes my stash. I love the lace gloves too, but the dress...oh the dress! I wish girls wore dresses like that now. Well done, sewmom!

Oh, great costume and a darling young lady wearing it. I didn't realize that I might be making costumes for years to come for my 3 1/2 yr. old granddaughter until I read your notes. I made her a Minnie Mouse costume and two weeks ago I dressed her in a white princess costume. Now that she has seen Beauty and the Beast she asked me if I would make her a yellow princess dress. You are lucky to have daughters!

Princess costumes are the best! My daughter twirled as soon as she put this on. I hope you have fun for many years.

FANTASTIC SEWMON - I love the colour and the pattern. I too love little girl dresses and wished more girls would wear them. Beautiful looking young girl too. Congratulations on such a wonderful sewing job. Love Chris

Thank you. I did enjoy it, a lot. I was back in my seamstress element. I've been doing so much embroidery lately that I almost forgot my roots.

A most excellent costume, as well as a lovely young lady to wear it. I love the white rabbit's costume too.

Ooh - that is really beautiful! Only "bad" thing that the dress is for
Halloween only :-(( Shouldn't beautiful girls wear such romantic
dresses instead of jeans more often?

Well done both (costume and use-what-you-have). She looks so happy and I'm sure she will have a lot of fun in this dress :o)

She's at school so I can't wait to see pictures with her friends. One of them is the Chesire Cat.

Oh, cool! I hope you'll share the pictures.

I'm sorry, I can't share pictures of the other girls without permission. But I will say that one girl was the Cheshire Cat and she sewed her own costume from a footie pajama pattern.
