I agree with Libby it looks great! The snow in real life has different thickness & the upper layers are going to be the lightest so it actually looks more realistic to me, but that's just my opinion. I love it!!! I think they will too!

I think it's just adorable love the ornament with the font on it where did you get that please? you know we are our own worst critics, i think who ever is getting it will just adore it...Hugs...Libby Blessing this season
Love the stocking...if you were unhappy with the fill stitching, perhaps you should notify them and let them know your feelings...it may be that there is a problem in the format of the design file you used (?)...it might be interesting to hear their thoughts....?
I have had this problem stitching on red stocking material before. Some mylar or angelina fibers would probably be nice under the snow on the roof. At any rate, your stocking is simply adorable and is sure to be treasured! Denise
It's a great looking stocking. For those designs with white that I think might show the fabric, I use a piece of thin white plastic tablecloth. It tears off easily .

I can understand about the fill stitches. Sometimes it looks better, sometimes not. The whole stocking is most impressive. Thanks for sharing it.

I love all the detail & extra that you put into this stocking & yes it is a shame that the snow is so thin. Now that it is finished there is nothing that can be done but you can make some changes to it now before you do it again. If you have a program you can change the density to be denser if not then you could have it stitch out twice. I too am Canadian & have not found this puffy foam that you can sew over but I have been told that the puffy craft foam @ the Dollarama's can be sewn over although I have not done so, it may be worth a try. Best of luck with the remedy for the next one. Hugs **Loralye
These is a fine plastic that is also used Hide it , the foam from the dollar store is not the same as the one used in embroidery.,http://www.sewforless.com/item/Hi...
This is and isn't a density problem and can not be fixed that way,it's the underlining stitching and top stitching is just not done full enough. When you sew, lets say Embroidery library look at all the under stitching, it's there for many reason, not only to help stabilize the fabric but to help the top stitching cover the underlining fabric. I just hate spending all the time it takes to due some of these designs and run into problems that are not my fault. I feel when we buy a design it should be done correctly.
This is adorable and I wouldn't worry about the background showing through. I only noticed because you brought it to our attention. Madden will treasure this for ever...
I think it looks fine also. But - maybe that foamy stuff would have stopped the background show through. (Too lazy to get out of my nice warm bed to check on name.) It's not really a foam but it's meant for this problem, to give better coverage. You embroider over it like you would the stuff for towels and leave it in place. I love the snowflake on the cuff - makes a great finishing touch!
It an underlay. Would I have know to use it , not unless I test stitched out the design. I am going to test stitch every design , oh I hope not. I also live in Canada there is no product I can find on the web here, yes I can have it shipped up from the states , it's the duty and shipping that is the problem , sometime just that alone is more then what it costs. The snow flake was an after thought and when I realized it could be the hanger, I just ensured I stitched it on very well. Thanks
I think it is adorable, see what you mean re stitching around the roof. Wonder to do that twice over if you did it again to make it thicker. Maybe you could now add some stiching by hand, know it is a bit of work but would not take too long. Overal a super project though
Very pretty!! Love the designs! Looking at it critically--I like that the stitches are not as heavy in the snow atop the roof- it makes it seem less permanent!! The snowflakes also adds lightness to the other designs. This will be a treasure for the recipient! Love it!
I really am so disappointed with the fill stitching in this design, I used WSS over the applique stitching, to ensure nothing would fall into the pile of the snow. The candy on the roof you can't even see it . I know who they will love it , but it's me who is not happy. I am learning everyone has different standards for the way something stitches out , and mine well lets just say I want it to be prefect, since I am not only putting my time into it, but the expense of doing the project itself. Thanks
It is still a stunning piece of work. Congratulations on such a pretty stocking, whoever receives it will love it. Love Chris
I think it is cute in spite of the stitches being light in some areas. You can try to use a fabric marker to hide more of the dark showing through. But personally, I would leave it alone.
