I found a biscuit recipe that uses a sweet or lolly called Jolly Rancher. Can some-one explain what these are made from and what they look like please?

I love these cookies - have to get some candy. Will any hard candy work?

They are made by Hershey, just Google Jolly Rancher candy

We used them crushed to make "Stained Glass" cookies. You cut a design out of the center of the raw rolled cookie and fill it with the pieces of candy and bake. The candy melts into "glass". Make sure you use parchment paper under the cookies.

Interesting...Jolly Ranchers are shiny clear hard candies that have sweet/sour fruit flavors and I believe they are made by Hershey...I have never heard of them being used in biscuits...but, I guess all is possible...or perhaps it is more what I call a cookie...that would be what I would expect them to be used in...I believe they are broken apart into pieces and used in cookies for color and flavor...

I think biscuit is the same as our (USA) cookies.
Muffy :)

Yes, you are right 'muffy' in Australia we call them Biscuits - Americans call them cookies, I'm not sure about Canadians. Love Chris

yep, the biscuits/cookies (same thing) are rolled dough, then cut a shape, such as a heart. Then cut smaller shape out of the centre and put in a Jolly Rancher. This melts and it looks just like stained glass. Very pretty. Go to The Whoot for a look. Thanks everyone.
