FYI - Never have I been a fan of raw edge applique and always line the applique with light weight dressmaker interfacing. Last night I was out of interfacing so I used inexpensive organza that I use to support some machine embroidery. As always I put the right sides together, stitched around and then cut a slit in the backing, turned, pressed and attached to garment with a blanket stitch. I was pleased with the softness and lack of bulk from the organza.

I've made applique pieces with used dryer sheets. they are soft, and repurposed.

Worth a try and it smells good, too.

Great idea using organza. Tulle might work also.

It does, but the fine meshed tulle is best, not as bulky.
