Beautiful picture. Nice to have a new little buddy.
oh a sweet little kookaburra, look at the markings in the tail. fabulous that the little darling waited till you took the photo...how lovely.
I am at my GD's and we have real big ones coming in for the grubs now that we have had a bit of rain, sits on the clothes line and comes down for a pick it is amazing how good their eye sight is...they rarely miss a grub.
I have that problem as well from time to time. I'll give you another flower to make up for it. LOL Shirley

Yes they do have good eyesight. Wish mine was as good. I was afraid to move and frighten him. So I called to hubby to get the camera for me.
Oh my! He sure is pretty. I am so glad you caught the pic. He is light in color, are they all when they are young? I thought Chris' were dark.
Yes he is lovely. This is the 1st time I have seen one so young and so close so I am not sure about the color. I was really pleased to be able to get the photo.
Oh He's so beautiful! Thanks for sharing the pictures. Stella
Thanks for the pictures, we have counted 17 different birds in our garden. Our birdbath is a joy to my invalid husband. We live in a busy suburb (on Lake Illawarra, New South Wales, Australia) with passing traffic but the birds don't seem to mind. At the moment we are watching a battle between a Little Wattle Bird and a New Holland Honeyeater, the wattle bird can be quite a bully at nesting times. I'm so glad we have time to smell the roses and enjoy Gods gifts...........Ann
I'll have to do a count of how many we have down here in Northern Tasmania. I t would be wonderful for your husband to watch them all. They are a joy to watch in the bird bath. My late MIL would have just loved to have seen them. Sometimes the bath is so crowded with little wrens etc. Yes it is lovely to have time to stop and smell the roses and watch the great wonders of the world. Shirley
Beautiful birds. Mine have gone to have babies. Should be back any day now.
so beautiful !!! great you saw him and were able to take this picture!
Yes I was pleased to get the photo. I have quite a lot of video clips taken from my dinnig window of lots of kinds of birds in the bird bath. Have not seen the kookaburra in the bath yet, but have had 2 green parrots there at the same time. Shirley
Wow! You're very lucky, Shirley, to have such an impressive "quality control expert" overlooking your stitching - LOL Great pictures! Thanks for sharing., Hugs and *'s, Deb
Yes 'great quality contoll expert'. Hope he approved of what I had made. Am working on some coasters for my daughter for Christmas. They have cats on them. Maybe that is what he was checking out LOL, Shirley
He is a beauty Shirley - all of ours have flown the nest and off in the back reserve. We've had torrential rain for the past 2 days and I can hear them still laughing out there! Love Chris
P.S. Is that a Boronia bush or some form of Heath underneath him?
This is the 3rd time I've heard him out at the door. Could'nt get a photo before..Yes it is a pink boronia underneath him. Beautiful perfume. The rain would be a relief from the heat you have been having up there. Shirley
He's so FLUFFY! Thanks for sharing.
I think he had fluffed up his feathers because he had been flying at the window. Just had to share.
Fascinating birds! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
