I found this idea on the Urban Threads site so I used a test stitchout to try it. I wish I'd left the stabiliser in place behind the white fabric.

Still, it looks quite nice. I wonder could you pin a flower or something on the lower part to cover the lining showing through?

Looks very nice. I agee, this project needs a bit more support in the fabrics to make a sturdy pocket. This is good use for your test stitch-out.

The test design was a square - I cut it in half and added a lining the same as the back fabric. The white fabric is loosely woven so the colour of the lining shows where there is no stabiliser at the bottom.
