My MIL is in an assisted living home and they have a Chris Kringle gift exchange...she drew the name of a retired police officer...since she is not able to get out much, I made this black plush fleece throw with a law enforcement badge and his name on it for her gift to him. Both he and his wife live in the residence with my MIL...he and his wife are in their 80's...and he is in a wheelchair..Thought this would be good for him to cover up while in his wheelchair...I thought the badge turned out really well....

Extra special. Hard to make for the elderly and a man so can see a big smile on his face.

Very nice!! Like our troops Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, Nurses,& doctors this is the BUSIEST time of the year for them! Before my husband past I hated he had to always be working, but now that I am one of those people that now this time of the year is the hardest since he won't eventually walk through the door. Just always give these workers & similar fields give them a little extra cheer at this time of year to say "Thank You" for having our safety & well being at the top of their list. They TRUELY are our Santa Clauses!!!!

What a wonderful personalized gift. I am sure he will treasure it. Being a senior myself, I appreciate the thoughtfulness of your gift for him.

As the wife of a retired police officer after 20 years of service , I can tell you that there is very little appreciation shown for these guys and I think this is a wonderful gift ! Thank you !

What a thoughtful gift. It is always nice to be appreciated. Your MIL will be asked to make many more of these as the residents share their former occupations. The shield really turned out beautiful.

Great idea, and great work! I'm sure he'll love the reminder of the great work he did all his life, and it will make him proud. Thanks for your kindness to one who has served. Hugs, Marji
