I am making a big wall hanging for our summerhouse. I call it OUR GARDEN IN A NUT SHELL.

This is one of the garden designs I have embroidered on the Hessian. (I have done at least thirty designs already. it is a big wall hanging)
I love the look of the Hessian, very natural. Of course a snail could not be missing. ( I wished I could find a ground elder design)

Cute snail! I have some burlap for some project I had purchased, but not sure what I'm putting on mine yet. Very nice!

Looks great! I was wondering if I could embroider on burlap(what we call it). I think you used a cutaway underneath? You will enjoy it for many years.

I used tear away underneath but wash away on the top.

This Hessian (burlap) looks looser weave. You did awesome stitch out with it. I too love the natural look of burlap. It is quite poplar right now for many things.

Our hessian here in UK is coarser than your burlap. It has been used in the past for making sacks.
