I hadn't made a gingerbread house since Kate was small (over 30 years ago). I thought it was time to have another go. Kate was visiting today and we finished this one off together. It does have a few dodgy bits as the whole thing collapsed as I tried to make an adjustment! So we scraped of the most damaged icing around the edges and started again. The windows have coloured "glass" made from boiled sweets and it looks pretty with a couple of tealights inside. Unfortunately it wasn't bright enough for us to get a picture.

She used my trick for putting glass in the windows - I first did that 30 years ago!

Looks great! My daughter always buys the kits and they make it a family project to put it together.

How sweet and on the jelly roll. I made little cottages with GS used gram crackers as I know this way we would have had a cracked house and possibly collapsed one . You did a great job. Are those spicy gum drops?

They are "Jelly Tots" one of the few jelly sweets available without animal ingredients.
