dlmds, I would stabilize just like I would for any stretchy fabric! *4U
I'm with Cutie Pie on this one. Used that method many times without any problems.;)
I goofed on a garment before ;( but I still wear it and eveyrone thinks it's GREAT ;0 Good question ;)
I made a pair of capris some days ago (I posted at the Projects) and they are stretch, I used cut away stabilizer at the bottom and water soluble at the top. Flower and XoXo
Let us know what Kenny tells you, If he answers. I fell sure he will. Deb has helped me!!
I use iron on fabric stabalizer & a cut away stab. on anything that has a lot of stretch to it, but I can see u have quite a few answers, & choices, let us know how it turns out by posting it. *4U
Without the cut-a-way stablizer the design itself will stretch with the fabric and the stitches may break during wearing.
Clawton, this was what I was unsure of, as I know even regular denim has some stretch to it. Thanks, hugs and flower.
Hi you would use the same as for t-shirting! The cut away stabalizer and one more tear away under the cut away stabalizer, that means your cut-away will be against your fabric! Hope that helps.

Lizette, Welcome, and thank you. This makes alot of sence to use the stabilizers this way. Hugs and flower.
I would probably try using 1 or2 layers of iron-on, tear-way stabilizer, depending how much it stretches, and slip a layer of tear-away under the hoop.

Mpo, thank you. I have never tryed the iron-on stabilizer. Maybe this is when I should try it. Hugs and flower.
look like you got yourself a couple of excellet answers already, good luck and don't forget to post your project. *4U
I know Adelmarie, Aren't our friends here wonderful!! They are always so kind and helpful. At times I feel like I am asking kind of stupid questions, however, I am never treated that way by my Cute Family. Hugs and a flower.
You will need to stabilize a bit more firmly for stretch denim over regular denim. The whole reason for stabilizing is to keep the fabric from stretching while it is being sewn on, and obviously stretch denim will stretch more than regular will. If you don't use enough stabilizer, the fabric will stretch while you stitch, leaving gaps in the design or warping the design so that things just don't line up the way they are supposed to. While you can usually get away with using a tear-away with regular denim, definitely use a cut-away for the stretchy stuff.
Cutiepie, Thank you, it is nice to hear from you. How are our twins doing?? I bet you are a very busy lady, and I appreciate you taking the time from your busy, busy day to help me out. Hugs and flower.
I should imagine that you would stabilize in the same way. You will lose a certain amount of the stretch over the area of the embroidery an dI would not choose a very large and dense design. This is just my humble opinion. *4U
Thank you Shirleysisson, I just was not sure. I have embroideried on regular denim. Enjoy doing this, however, never tryed the stretch. I e-mailed Kenny at Emlibrary to ask, but never recieved an answer. Hugs and flowers.
