I too suffered from Benign Proximal Positional Vertigo. It was so severe the spinning. My doctor sent me to a physical therapist that did the Epley Maneuver on me. I am completely cured for over eight months now. This cure has been out for about 8 years, however not all doctors know about it. Please search out a therapist because there is help with out medication.
the following web site is what my doctor printed out for me as education of the problem. http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/ne...
Best wishes to you. Audreyan
I can sympathize with you!!!! It's horrible when everything seems to be spinning and nobody quite understands. I pray that all will be healed real soon.
Glad you are back home and have excellent help; interesting how so many seem to have it as well...they also seem to have interesting ideas on dealing with it. Hope one of these remedies can give you some relief.
Good husbands make everything so much better...........I am happy that yours is helping you too. I will keep you in my daily prayers Karen, hugs Loralye
Do hope you and back to normal soon. Glad hubby is taking good care of you.
I feel you pain, well, not really pain, unless you have sever ear aches with it. But I do feel your world spinning. I too have vertigo and it's no fun because mine comes on me even when I'm laying down. Let alone standing and sitting.... So I feel you. Hope it gets better for you.... :( so sorry you are dealing with this too.
I have had that a few times and they keep giving me a wee ,the size of your baby finger nail gravel patch .it fits behind your ear and keeps your balance .Well it works for me .
I will pray for you Hugs and happy New year !!Carolyn
Sorry to learn you have such an unpleasant problem - hope it doesn't make you feel sea-sick - thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery so that you can fully enjoy lots of good things in 2014.

Karen, did they give you Meclizine? That is what I have and it makes me sleepy as well.......Been battling my "Vertigo" for over a year now. They tell me mine is from complicated migraines......was tested for the BPV, but they said no.....our bodies can sure do some strange things.......hope this improves for you really fast!!! Vicki
I hope for better and better on your behalf as well. I did not know you had this. I say had because I have to speak the mountain gone. I will keep trusting for you as well as Karen. Hugs Mary
Thank you, Mary......it just comes out of the blue, sometimes with a migraine and sometimes not......it usually happens when I bend over or get up too fast from a squat position, occasionally it takes forever to recover from one stupid movement.....gggrrr!
Hope you feel better soon and your doctors can get it sorted out.
Hope you get better soon, I know it isn't fun as my husband had vertigo. It comes back from time to time if he gets stressed out. Take care
Karen, so sorry to hear about your hospital stay and your vertigo. Please, just take it easy - do as the doctor says and be patient!! It is good that you have a Handsome care giver!!!! Feel better fast!! Keep us up-to-date!! Hugs, Laura*
Oh, Karen...I am so sorry to hear this news. I, too, have suffered with positional vertigo. I fell and hit my head about 20 years ago and ended up with a concussion and positional vertigo. I couldn't drive for almost a year. I did take medication for several years...it finally subsided, thank goodness, but comes back periodically for no reason. To this day, if I move my head into the wrong position it sends me spinning. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy...I do hope your recovery is quick and all goes well for you. I just read awesome1's post below about the Epley Maneuver...I have never heard of this, but I will ge Googling it next!! My simpathies and prayers are with you...Hugs, Kim
Dear Karen, I hope you can get over this really quickly. Thinking of you whilst you recuperate. Love Chris
P.S. Hope 2014 is full of good health.
Here's hoping you get better soon so you can enjoy a happy, healthy New Year.
Dear Karen, I hope you will be feeling better soon. Hugs Sarah.
Hope you are doing better. I have a couple of friends who have also been diagnosed with this condition recently. Did they give you any reason for it? Seems strange this is happening to so many people lately. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Best wishes, Susan

Hoping the vertigo is soon gone, and you feel great again! Very frustrating to be "under par", when there are so MANY things we not only need to do, but WANT to do!!

Karen,. I hope you feel better soon. Emergency room visits are no fun nor are the overnight stays in hospital. Take it easy, Hopefully this will soon go away and you will be back to feeling good again. Hugs, Mary

I, too, have suffered an episode of what you are enduring...it was awful and scary. One a.m. I sat up in bed and the walls were spinning around me- my hubby said he tho't I was having a seizure. The ENT diagnosed 'misplaced crystals' in my ear and did the "Epley Maneuver" to reposition the crystals. It worked for me--no meds involved. Worst was having to stay upright for 24 hrs. Slept?sitting in a chair. The ENT doctor taught the procedure to my hubby....but have not needed it again. Do a Google on the Epley maneuver.
Thank you for sharing this information...I, too, suffer from positional vertigo...and no one has ever told me about this...mine is due to a fall and hit my head..concussion...couldn't drive for almost a year because of it...that was about 20 years ago...
My mother just had a bout with this and they re-positioned her crystals too. She also had to sleep upright for a couple of days and that helped greatly. Best of luck to you. I know it is no fun.
Glad you have a diagnosis and medication and are through with the Emergency Room part. I've been on make-you-sleepy meds for a year. Wake up between 7:00 and 8:30, keep waking up again till about10:30 or 11:00. It really cuts into your day. Then, I cn't imagine vertigo on top of that! Tucking ou into my prayers for short duration.
I know exactly how you feel. Take care my friend! Hope you are standing on your own two feet soon ( without the wall). I know how miserable this is.I feel for you. You are in my prayers. HUGS
Sounds like you have too much spin in your earth orbit! heehee, My kind of a joke, no really the quickest way to health is laughter and I hope handsome hubby has some humor! Say that quick 3 times! Feel Better Woman!
We missed you and I'm praying for a speedy recovery. I'm sorry that you have this. I'll veto the search party and give full permission to be MIA. Please take care of your sweet self. Hugs!
