One of Avery's birthday presents and my first hooded towel to make.Look at the photos and tell me, if you think I need to emb or applique something on the back, or will it be too much? The site shows you how to fold it, to present a pretty look.I will try to put the link I used.I need a pretty ribbon to tie it up,just used a piece of rick-rack here.Again I used my stocking tree because I didn't have a person here, to try it on.The color is hot pink or fuschia, but here it looks red.-Takes 1 bath towel and half of a hand towel, so buy 2 bath towels so you can make 2.This towel came from JCPennys for $3.98 and hand was $2.98, so for $11.00 total, you could make two hooded towels.Any trim would be an added cost but we all have fabric, don't we?I used 1/3 yard cause I cut my trim 4inches, it was suppose to be 3inches, so that would have been even less,1/4 yard. These will be good at the pool this summer.

I would add nothing more. It is great just the way it is. With the January white sales coming up I must get some towels so I can make these for my great-grand kids.

It is already on at JCPennys, the white sale.

It looks great as it is! IF you must add anything if they have the same last initial maybe that. But it is perfect as it is. Or a silly saying like girls rule, boys drool, but like I said it really doesn't need it, it's all dolled up already.

You have done a great job of the hooded towel. I would not add anymore, I think the fabric contrast is enough.

It came out nice and the fabric is a good contrast to the terry cloth. Can see lots of kids wanting one of these specially the ones that live in the colder climates.

Toogie, it is perfect the way it is. I'm always a bit wary of putting names of children on things. Love Chris

I didn't want to put her name, because now that we have Nora, she could use it later too. Avery goes in the pool at our homes, not public, but I understand what you mean.I have a flower applique in the shape of these flowers but it probally wouldn't look good on the back, unless I scattered several, and I'm not sure I want to do all that.LOL

Looks great! You can do anything you want with the back, or leave it. A label maybe.
