This is what I do when doing FSL or when fabric is slippery.

This is what happens when yu dont read well. I thought you had used a type of rubber and tried it. Of course it stuck and jammed 1/2 way through. I quess it is a lesson learned. Now I realize it is felt. Thanks for great idea it is very helpful especially when you read properly.

Sorry you had that problem. The felt is cut like a frame. In the pic it is the blue fabric. The centre has no felt. Maybe giving a lot of explanations, if so sorry. *4u

Always helpful getting ideas from others...I use the shelf liner from the $ store as mentioned by a few others. Have several ready cut to my different hoop sizes ...*4U

Thanks for the great picture. The felt acts in the same way as the rubber matting I use. Good job. *4U

You would need to be careful what color felt you used as it is possible to get color bleeds from the felt to the fabric, best to use matching colors or white for light colours and matching for the darker fabrics.

Thanks for that tip. Didn't know that felt bleeds but will be careful. I use if mainly for FSL. *4u

I did something with red felt once and, yes, it did bleed.I think the stronger colours do, but White should be fine, and you can use it over and over again,Do one for the big hoop too. Then you have a choice.

Did you hoop both stabilizer and felt, then trim felt away? I guess if you were using organza, it would in between.

I do hoop stabilizer and felt together. The felt has a piece cut out the centre. If you look on projects u will see what it looks like. Organza would be hooped between stabilizer and felt. *4u

Good idea. I made something similar out of that rubbery shelf liner. Same effect, different produce. *4U

Husqvarna Viking sells things like this, they quite expensive, so I made my own much like you did from a partly sunbleached piece of felt. Works wonders! Your picture says it all. Flower for you.
