I've been untwisting by trying out a new idea today. This little mermaid is quickly made in two hoopings (although it did take a while to turn her through!) Back to the drawing board now though as I think her face needs more character.

Adorable! I'm working on a sea creature themed baby blanket. This would make a great add-on gift! Well done.

Sue, is there somewhere I can purchase the design to make one of these? She is really cute, and I'd like to make a black mermaid for a friend who just had a baby in Dec. I made a swaddler with a black mermaid baby stitched on it. A doll to match would be so adorable!

Be patient for a few days - when I have finished tweaking the design it will be available from Yoriko's site.

I can do that. Thank you!

sue do you have a turning tool for dolls, if not try a biro pen without the refill, and something like a satay stick, blunt end , is used, put the tube inside the part to turn (arm, fin) this is with rightside still inside, tube in upto the very end hold tube and push the blunt end into the tube where the end is and it will start to turn, hermostats are usefull to, there like a long thin pair of tweezers to gt hold of the part you are turning. hope you can understand, hard to explain...wendy

I think your idea using a biro and satay stick is a brilliant idea, I'll be trying this myself. Thanks for sharing your idea with everyone.

I use a pair of blunt ended dissecting forceps. I wouldn't be without them!

She looks beautiful just as she is. At least her face is pretty to me not scary looking. I like the glittery look on her suit.(I'm afraid of clowns(??)
Great job. You've been busy!

May I suggest a nose? You know I was not happy with my dolls noses....or maybe just do the nostrils. They must be hard to get to look right, but how would I know,I sure can't digitize.-LOL Sue,you are doing so well with your digitizing/designing. As the saying goes,'you've come a long way, baby' and it seems to me,a very short time.Maybe not to you,though.-Toogie

a little blush applied to her cheeks always seems to help a doll I find. Just a really soft color......You did a super job though!!!
