My second entry for the day---after having my 780D Brother FIXED by a dependable person---I stitched out a design for a girl who makes soap---before "fixing" the machine REFUSED to stitch it out--today on a t-shirt it stitched out BEAUTIFULLY WITHOUT any problems---THENnnnnnn---I used sticky stabilizer---stuck an iron on patch on it to stitch the same design--AND it looped, shredded FLORIANI thread, you name it>>it did it---I rethreaded the top and redid the bobbin---THENNNNNN---I felt the needle---STICKY to the maximum---so I changed the needle and went into the Family Room to sit in front of the fire where it is warm and NOT outside where it is 13 degrees to drink coffee and eat chocolate---awaiting the Floriani Webinar---to finish the other later----and Merry CHRISTmas to my Russian Orthodox friends:):):):)):):)God bless y'all.

OK...what brand were you using? I hate to ask, but there are some out there that don't do that. I have a roll that is awful for that...I should throw it out, I know! But what if I need it? LOL

It was Sulky---the paper that you peel off and stick the item to---I have also used the same kind in Floriani brand----The Sulky has NEVER given me a probem---the Floriani HAS given me problems with gumming up the needle---someone mentioned that it is probably the amount of adhesive on the back of the patch---I have stitched out patches from Walmart with NO problem using the Sulky sticky---these patches came from Joanns and I have not stitched them before---all others and I can figure out is they have a lot more intense and super sticky adhesive than others---probably great for iron-on but NOT GOOD for trying to stitch through----are you willing to share brand names--if so THANK YOU---if not--I understand...God bless you.....

I use the rectangle frame in single stitch to hold my stabiliser and fabric together instead of sticky stuff. Hoop up fabric etc. Choose Frames; choose the Rectangle Frame; choose single stitch (its on the 2nd screen). Then adjust the size till it is as big as my 5" x 7" frame; stitch {I advance past the locking stitches first & I don't do the end locking stitches either for ease of removal at the end}. Then I stitch my design out.
I did have a basting frame, but I keep forgetting where it is on my computer and there are only so many designs that you can upload to the 780D and save there. The basting frame was on my USB, but I wiped it out a few times. So came up with the idea of trying to use the inbuilt frames.
Love my 780D, but would like to buy a VE2200 for the bigger screen, but the money fairy doesn't visit me. : -)

I TOO LOVE my 780D-----when I can find DEPENDABLE and RELIABLE repairpersons----few and far between and hard to find---I love the fact it will do Disney if I want it to---even though I seldom do any Disney----I like the fact that it takes a USB as well as cards-----where can I get info on the frames you were speaking about---I have no clue----would love to hear about them--God bless you.

Osueo, I think your issue is with the amount of glue on the sticky stablilizer adhering to the needle. This causes constant looping and shredding of the thread, and gets very frustrating. Did the back of the iron on patch also have adhesive on it, before you stuck it to the stabilizer?? If so, that would be a double whammy of glue. A design with a high stitch count/dense does not stitch out as well on sticky stabilizer.
I keep a bottle of alcohol and a cotton swab handy to wipe off excess glue from the needle, when using the sticky. Be sure the needle is wiped and DRY, before beginning to stitch again, as damp alcohol on the needle will worsen the issue.
My Brother machine loves Metro threads. This thread is vibrant in color, good quality, and so much less expensive than the thread you mentioned in the other post. I also like to order my stabilizers and other accessories from www.allstitch.net. Speedy delivery, great customer service, reasonable prices, and quality products.
It's cold here in middle Georgia, too, where we are expecting about 12 degrees low again tonight! Stay warm, and relax! I have to take a break from my stitching, when I get frustrated!! It usually gets better, when I calm down!! LOL
Hugs, Angel
