Those are great, and you're not just like another grandma. Not all grandmas are so thoughtful. If you have the link for the basic boot, could you please share it. Thanks.

I really like these, you have done a great job. Please tell us if Avery likes them.
Avery is always happy, so it's hard to tell, if she likes the boots.I just hope they keep her warm,2 layers of fleece.
These are so cute. I see all the fashionable young girls wearing long socks with boots so Avery will be right up there with the "fashionistas"
These are great. Hope they fit her. Love the ruffles so she will know left from right. Shirley
Oh yes,I was glad they fit and that was my intention, putting the ruffles on the outer edge. Her 'Pops' gets her ready for school in the mornings,God bless him, so I did it for him to know IF he pays attention to girls boots.-LOl
I think you have brilliantly solved a big problem! I'd be asking for some to come up to my knees next, as I am warm only if my feet and lower legs are warm.
Me too.I have been going to bed with a heating pad at my feet and a heated throw over my covers, when I feel like I'm finally warm enough to go to sleep,I turn them off.I am scared to sleep with them on, for safety.
There are so many little things that can be done to make folks with disabilities so much more comfortable - not to mention those angels who are caregivers. Does anyone know if there is a website or compiled list of ideas like this?
I opened the backs of ready-made sweatshirts and sweaters and put closures at the neck for a teen confined to a wheelchair so the garments didn't have to go over his head. Also put key holes in T-shirts for feeding tubes. Judy
I have done some things like this too, for a lady in a wheel-chair. The buttonhole in the jeans for urine tube, cutting the bottom off the long jackets so they don't drag on the wheel etc.
My mom was in a wheelchair since I was 12, so you learn what needs to be done.As each case is unique, sometimes it is learn as you go, though.
I love them and would very much like to have the link for them. Looking forward to seeing some with embroidery posted.
I have posted the links, in several post.Look in Projects at the brown boots are here in Sewing
I love these!!!!! It is sleeting outside here right now and I would love to have these. I bet she loves them too!! The ruffle is such a clever addition.
The web page had some gray with ruffle, looked cute.I want some myself. If I remember right, i think noah made her some, one time.
Yeah! you did GREAT! These cold temps will come back and metal is so cold. I need to make booties and wrist warmers. I was thinking of using the warm and natural drapery stuff for booties, they have the insulate included and a good backing I thought might be stong enough for the sole. I can't find my stuff now, however next year for sure!
What do you mean come back??? They haven't left! I am in the states and it is cccccCOLD now.-LOl That is another great idea..about the warm and natural, for insulation and I think I have some, but where.......
Wonderful idea, you are such a good grandma...they serve the purpose and very stylish too, thanks for sharing and hope to see pattern soon.
I am no more,no less, than any other grandma....just so glad they fit, she NEEDED something.
They fit! YEAH!!!!!!!! 1st photo blurred, I think my camera was too cold. 2nd-side view 3rd- had to fit over these braces -I have been so worried about her feet being cold, now this should help.
What a wonderful GM you are and these are great boots, I love the ruffle on side .... you could even fringe down side like mocassin boots.
Another great idea and in a buckskin color.I don't think I have that color,I'll see. Thanks
I love them! Keep your template and add another 1/2 inch or an inch each time you need to make a bigger boot. Avery has a wonderful grandmother in you. Thank you so much for not only loving her to pieces but making her boots that look so fashionable.
Hi, I hope you feel better.I am thinking of increasing the size,on a copy machine and maybe make ME some.I have to put the non-skid on the bottom for me,as I don't want a fall, and because my feet stay so cold.I just left her and school and her teacher and aide that they were so CUTE ! I will be making more today.I want to emb something on the toe part or down the sides, any suggestions? Her mom has some western boots, so I am going to look in my files for some small scroll or design, maybe to go on the side seam.I will post her feet in them.I am SO glad they worked!
Very nice!!! I love them! Avery will definitely love them too! Smart thinking using shelf liner, it is more readily available than the dot fabric.
I get more bang for the buck, with the liner.Giffy grip is not very wide. Thanks for looking
They are ace!
Thanks,Sue.I see you are busy too.Love your mermaid.I made Nora a doll for christmas.Yesterday her mom text me a photo of her playing with it, she said she had been 'eating' it.-LOL she is 5 months old now.
Oh WOW they are fabulous!HOW COOL! (Well warm anyway!) Please could you tell m what is the bottom called when you have the time! :)
Hi,I think it is just called waffle weave shelf liner. It is like a holely foam,or holey rubber,to keep your pots or dishes from scratching your kitchen drawers or shelves. It is way cheaper than giffy grip.I haven't tried this but someone I know used that 'foam paint' on her fabric, just painting dots or squiggley lines.
Oh thanks SO much Toogie !I do know that material for making things non slip and stopping things in the kitchen from scatching. I look forward to seeing you make some for you !!!! Thanks for replying. :)
Loving the ruffle - nice touch. Makes them more girly.
Toogie these are absolutely wonderful!!! Everyone will be wanting some just like them! They will look adorable on her!
If they fit!-LOL I just am trying to find something to keep those little piggies from freezing.I made the lining with the fleece too,so that will help.I hope on her, they look more like little suede boots, than pajama feet. Thanks for the positive support-Toogie
