toogie, I can't believe it but that apron pattern is now on my kitchen table, just finishing a new Easter apron using that pattern
Isn't it good we hang onto these, after all styles change and styles come back.Let us see yours when you are finished-Toogie
great apron , I got the design thank you, it is good to keep things I love the nice slim waist on the lady in the pattern .
Thank you showing us.
Hugs Pam.
Yeah,Pam I like her waist too.I suppose at one time I had a waist like that...but then I was about 12 years old!-LOL I am tickled you got the design-Toogie
Great job! Great apron, my son needs one like that for his BBQs. I just downloaded the design to try to make one similar for him. Thanks, Bev.
well done!
looks nice your apron love you design.
its a pity that you can no longer download it.
cool you old pattern looks great .
hugs micheline
Nice job. The pattern looks familiar, I might just have it somewhere. :) From back when you could afford to buy the pattern and material at the same time, right?
Isn't that the truth.-LOL Did you get the design,or do you already have it like me? I've had it awhile but just now used it.I really liked the stitching.
Lovely job well done Ilike the stitching on the pocket looks good L Sherene X
FYI-The link is now working, I just down-loaded the design again, to be sure.Sorry it wasn't working earlier.
I think it looks great - love the design. The stitching at the pocket adds definition so you know there is a pocket instead of blending in. For another male's view my husband also liked it AND would wear it.
Well thank your husband for me,I like his opinion better than my B-I-L's-I thought it would look better with the black stitching too and I thought this wouldn't be a girly stitch. Thanks
This is perfect for a manly apron. I really like that design & the stitching. You accomplish so much it seems.
Thank you but you give me too much credit, Carolyn aka noah, is the workhorse here!
This is great for the fellows. Yours looks more "manly" than the one on the pattern. I didn't realize until I scrolled down that you had emb the design, I thought it was stamped on and you just made the apron. Hope I can find it before the summer BBQ season starts.
PS How many hours do you haver in your day???You make good use of them!!
Thank you and I don't think I get nearly enough done.My son and g-son are here now for haircuts, so naturally my husband needs one too, while I'm into it.-LOL
Toogie! Your apron looks like you bought it at some high-end boutique :) Beautiful Job! You could make one for yourself now, with some of the same fabric and do the embroidery in a pink or purple. lol Flowers to all!!!
OMG! I think I have that exact pattern somewhere. Your man apron is great, and pockets are good for BBQ tools and such. I think the embroidery you did on the pocket is nice, and definitely not girlie.
Thank you.I was feeling good about it, until an older BIL came.He said he didn't wear aprons and somebody made him one,one time, still has it but never wore.I guess I'll have to make sure whoever gets it appreciate it.
KBK free design page said not found error 404 on all designs even the on for January 2014. This is sad because after seeing this wonderful apron you made I was hoping to pull out one of my old patterns and make me one. Love your work keep up the good job.
Thank you very much.Keep trying, the site is probally just having trouble and will be okay later.I do hope all of you will eventually be able to get it,as it is such a nice design. Not too many designs for our men,you know.
I, also, got the 404 error. I sent them an email, so we'll check later to see if they've got it fixed.
Fabulous job on the apron!!!
Hi,thanks.I am sorry to say I haven't met you before, but I saw something you posted and I looked back at your old projects.I really liked your mylar owl tee-shirt with the scrolls and the bling.Very pretty.I also read about the husband that might be jealous of the machine/pc.Mine is. He is retired, watches TV/ball games/etc I dislike and am not going to waste my time there. His house is clean,he has something to eat and his clothes are washed, what more could he ask for?-LOL
This is a really nice apron for the man in your life! I like the heavier fabrics better for men, since they are not so "gentle" with things, (especially when they are outside grilling). i alos think the pocket stitching is just perfect.. It's just enough to be seen and add a little interest to the pocket area. Nicely done.
That's what I thought too,but then after I stitched it across,I was unsure if it still looked 'manly'. You know they don't want to look sissy.lol
Be careful Toogie, her fabric stash may disappear. lol! Just kidding, your apron is awesome!!! Very nice apron, I love it, I like that ladies one too on the pattern, have you made it too?
Yes,scroll down to highlandermom. My sis suppose to come in today,if not, there is some navy that's lookin' good too-LOL
Well done! :-)
I really love it - gives me inspiraton.
Love Maria
I think the apron is great. LOve the large pocket. Sarah
It is such a great idea, and yes I also like the pocket. it makes a perfect gift for a brother who thinks he is the best in BBQing! I could'nt download the design however - it gives me a 404 error:(
Maybe try another time or day.None of them seem to work.Sorry about that because it is a nice design.
Great job with this apron!! And I vote yes for pocket....man or woman!
Thanks, a classic pattern, but a modern styled chefs apron,I call it.Loved this design.Looks like when they stamp your meat government inspected.
You did the pattern good. I like lots of pockets so you know my answer. lol
Thanks, the fabric is a little thick, so it should be good protection.I like pockets too, just didn't know if a man would like this decorative stitch on them.
Love it how you have done it, Toogie! I always add a pocket to my aprons and men are used to have a pocket on everything they wear. The pocket on the apron is not only useful but also provides an extra layer of fabric protecting the cook's clothes.
Hugs, Lidia
That is so true,Lidia.and my BIL always has a cloth in his back pocket when he B-B-Q ing.
That's really neat! I like the pocket. Also like that, like me, you hang on to all those patterns!!
Very Pretty thank you for the free design too.
I hope you were able to get it.It gave me an 404error message but it did work earlier.
Love your modern version from your older pattern. Love the decorative stitches and pockets. Modern version is for either man or woman. I love the ladies style on your pattern envelope too. I made my dil an apron with adjustable strap looked something like this. She uses to keep dry after getting little guys out of bathtub. It was girl type fabric. The design makes this one guy apron as guys are really handy for the barbecue, making them the BEST. At least that is what I love having my helper handy for grill time. hugs~Mary
When I was in school,I made a solid, lt blue one, with med rick-rack.I wore it for years and when I was pregnant, I took the ties out of the pleats/darts and still wore it! I did put adjustable staps on this one,as I don't know who is getting it,just wanted to make SOMETHING,since I finished my room.-LOL
I smiled at the thought you went to your get rid of pile or should I say share with your sister. pile. Does feel good to make something after cleaning up. I am into 2 things currently cleaning files and cutting strips. I have fabric strings all over. But still in good shape.
Nice job....it's worth a steak or two ... hehehhe
Hugs
Maybe whoever gets it will grill me one!...I should probally give it to SIL then
