Maybe you could undo a side seam, do some embroidery and stitch it back up. Wishing you warmer weather. It is cold here is FL too but not as bad as last week. hugs, Susan
Here are the links again, for the CHILDRENS booties. One link is the pattern size up to 5 yrs(these fit Avery and she is 8 yrs)and if you click on another spot, they have newborn-18 months.Click on the title BABY BASIC BOOTIE.The other link is the instructions.I advise you to print them out,so you can refer to,without going back to site.Look in sewing too,I may add some photos in that post about the sole.
Thanks for the links. After seeing your booties, & my sewing room being too cold to work in right now, I got the idea to simply wear the inserts out of my mud boots. They work to keep my feet warmer, but the booties with some non-skid on the bottom will be better. I just have to get my sewing room warmer before I can make them. My fingers get so cold that I can't sew. Spring will be here, though, before we know it.
My feet are freezing too , what pattern is this is it something free to download I hope ....? We have 8" of snow and are not going anywhere today...love t he idea of the batting and insulbright..you are verry smart! Stay well everyone.
The childs pattern is FREE to dl,. I took the childs size 5 and enlg at 138% on a copy machine, with the long, legal, copy paper.I then added 51/4 inches at the fold, of the front and back pieces,so it would come up higher on the leg.I will TRY to add the link here, so scroll around this post, as it won't let me add on this comment...The batting and insul-brite must be the answer, because I wore them last night and this morning too,and my feet are WARM,finally.
ps.I also wanted to give credit to another Cutie, who gave us this link a while back, but I can't remember who it was.She was making the childrens version and provided the link for us.Thank you Cutie, whoever you are.-Toogie
Oh, Toogie, these are awesome......they look so warm & comfy....you are right, it would have been a perfect canvas for a design!!
Yes,but at the time I couldn't find that 'just right' design for them, and I needed something warm on my feet. They are both warm and comfy, thank you-T
They look warm! It has been cold in my house this past week.
What a brilliant job you have done. So very professional.
Looks very Great and warm .
Nice Color.

The size is a perfect fit. Like the color also. You could take a seam out and put on a design.
excellent on your next pair emb. something .Great job girly hugs:):)
Thank you,I'll see how I like these first. It took me a yard of fleece, because I lengthened them 51/4 more on the fold and I had to make my fold at 18in,folded the yd in half, to cut with the stretch. My sis picked me up the rug backing (or shelf liner) by the yd.Didn't use much of that.Had my insul-brite and warm and natural, already.
