Can anyone tell me if they have ever used Organ Needles for their embroidery machines before? I have been searching for new needles on line & came across these $7.50 for 100 needles Size 11.Plus $3.95 for shipping & I wonder if they are any good as I am not familiar with this brand?

Love Organ needles. I bought embroidery titanium-coated needles from Allstitch last year and I think they are the best needles I have ever used. Comparing their cost to the prices I was paying for other needles, they are much, much cheaper, even including the freight cost to Australia.

the needlecoop yahoo group offers great prices for Organ needles. Join the group. Then check out the needles available, lots available including titanium top stitch for embroidery, et al. It is worth it.

I use organ needles for all my machines too. Baby locks they have a flat back.. Great needles that last a long time. Suzanne

I thought Organ needles only have round shanks. I once had a Mammylock serger and got a box of 100 needles as a present. which I gave away with the machine when I bought my Bernina. I did not know that you can use a round shank in a machine that uses a flat back needle. Is that true?

That is true but the organ needles do come in a flat back. That is what all the Cuties are using

AuntAnnie by AuntAnnie 13 Feb 2014

Bev is correct, Organ needles are available in both round and flat back shank; regular point (sharp) and ball point (BP); chrome and titanium.

I use the Organ Embroidery needles in all of my machines..even for sewing, as the eye is a bit bigger, and less stress on the thread. I love Organ needles! Where did you find them for that price do tell!

I use Organ needles, the industrial round shanked ones, for my 4-needle machine.
For the other machines, sewing, serger, embroidery I use Schmetz almost exclusively.
Neither have ever let me down.

I use them. My Babylock serger came with Organ needles and they are the recommended needles in the manual. I've used them in all my machines, all kinds of sewing, with excellent results. i have regular and ball point needles, mostly 75/11 size.

I too use the organ needles. But I do change my needles after 8 hours of stitching. My machines are Janome made. It is my understanding that the needles that are marked Janome are made by Organ. Hope this information helps. Hugs, Mary

:) They are made in Japan, and the last time I went there, I brought 200 needles, size 11 and 14. They are half price in Japan, I could start a business here :) hugs

I buy them from the US and I'm in Australia. Even with the shipping cost it's worth it. A sewing friend and I order together. I use them for embroidery as well as regular sewing including heavy duty sewing on dog collars etc. Sure, I break some but the cost is so minimal that I don't fret about it. I buy from Allstitch. There is a useful guide on their site as to which needles to use for what.

I prefer Organ needles over Schmetz. Size 11 is prefect for FSL. My last purchase was from Sharp Sewing at Ebay. Organ ball point needles also are available for your stretchy fabrics. Look for the BP designation.

When I bought my Janome 8000 and then the 9000 the needles labelled Janome were actually Organ needles. My old Brother embroidery machine also came with Organ needles.

I've never used them, but I have noticed that with some of the Janome machines (the newer lower end than yours) that's what they are including with the machine. Also, when I was to the launch of the Janome 15000, they commented about the organ needles being really good

I've used them before and liked them better than Schmetts. Right now I'm using the titanium needles from Superior threads. They are made by Organ and lost a whole lot longer. I've been using these for the last couple of years.

I have used the Organ needles with no problems, but mostly for sewing. Unless they are marked marked specifically for embroidery the eye will be a little smaller so you might get some shredding at the fast speed and they are a little harder for some of our older eyes & hands to thread!

Update on this pack of needles: I went ahead & ordered them, hubby says if half of them are good & half of them are bad I will still save a lot of money & because Carol has the same machine that I have and she uses them all the time & has no issues I went ahead & purchased them. Thank you all for your opinions this is the only place I know where I can get good honest answers! thank you all.

They will be fine,if they came in a pack of half good and half bad I don't think too many would be buying them.

Do let us know how they work for you.

lol thanks Bev, & I will indeed let you know how I make out with them as soon as I can try them out

sewilso by sewilso 10 Feb 2014

I have never had a bad needle, I don't think you will either. I don't sew a lot like you gals except around Christmas or birthdays. I need to be more ambitious, on my days off I just am too beat. lol!

I have only had trouble with Organ needles. They break often (for me -- regardless of the machine) and I don't like paying for the machines to be worked on for a broken needle that sends the machine all out of whack. Plus, I found that the Schmetz package of needles last long enough for me and remain sharp (without breaking) so I prefer them. I do try to get them on sale at my fabric stores though.

bevintex by bevintex 09 Feb 2014

the only time I have ever broken a needle is when it strikes something hard or thread gets tangled and it keeps sewing.

ouch

rescuer by rescuer 09 Feb 2014

Perhaps I was given a bad batch or the air is so dry where I live that it makes a difference.
It is nice to see other's have no issues with them.

I have been using Organ needles for several years now. We have the same emb machine, the janome 12000 and my machine is very happy using them. I purchased mine from Allstitch when they were having a good sale, purchasing 100 at a time. Hugs...Carol

Hi Lor...I purchased 100 Organ Needles in an assortment...size 9 through size 18...I got them on E-bay for under $10 including shipping. Each size came in the standard green Organ envelope...but, I have found that some of them are not good...in some cases the eye of the needle is a little bit different size within the same needle size...so sometimes the thread doesn't pass through the eye smoothly...It makes me wonder if they are really the original Organ needles...or someone is selling knock offs and passing them off as Organ made needles...Some have worked fine...and some won't sew at all...I have tried the problem needles both on my Janome 8000 and the Baby Lock Ellisimo...and they won't sew on either machine...just food for thought...

Organ needles are the only needles I use in my designer SE and she sews beautifully. In fact I get better stitches and less skipped stitches than I do with the more expensive needles. I don't feel bad to change the needle more often either. Good price. Hugs, Barba
