This is beautiful I would put it in a frame as art on my bedroom wall love it
I think that the background fabric adds a lot to it. Printed fabric with words is becoming more popular here too but not quite in the same style. It will be a showstopper no matter what you do with it. I agree that it needs to be shown off. I don't know that the texture would hold up to being a tote bag. How long are the stitches? Long enough to snag or be rubbed with use? It's very striking!
First I would like to say thank you to each one for your comments and ideas. When finished I will post my project.
This was risky and it works. Make something for yourself and enjoy, enjoy.
I just love it when I see designs stitched out on a printed fabric. This really accents the rose. The color stands out. I too, would put it on something that you use often. It is just sew pretty.
I love the rose on this fabric. A bedroom pillow? a bag/purse?

Oh, I love this! I would put on something that would be seen! It's very pretty.
I think a set of placemats would lovely on a table with this...you could border it out with just about any color within the picture...
This looks really great. Glad to see you took the plunge and used a patterned background. Would love to see this on the side of a bag maybe but all the other ideas are great as well. Lyn
Not sure what you are worried about, the rose or fabric, if it is the rose, dont worry I have seen them stitched out at our local quilt shop and they are georgous, I did buy them have not stitched them out yet but will, if its the fabric, well I would not embroider on this type of fabric not my cup of tea. I would this fabric for a book cover Does this help you?

This is very pretty. I think it would make a lovely decorator pillow for the sofa. You could always add a border if the fabric isn't large enough for the pillow size you want.
cut around the rose then applique it onto something you like ,but not this fabric.Just my thoughts ok
Hi there, this type of fabric is very popular in South Africa and my daughter who lives in Kentucky bought quiet a lot to take with her on their visit during December. Afrikaans is an "endangered language",therefore the sentiment
Very Pretty!! I like the idea of I pad or tablet cover. I love the photo stitching it is so much fun to do. Thank you for sharing. There are just so many ideas here!! K
That is beautiful! I think many of things already offered would work well. It would be lovely displayed.
Do you have an Ipad or kindle? That would make a beautiful carry case-tote bag, that way everybody could see it when you carry it out in public :) If this square isn't big enough, you could add a border fabric. Its SO beautiful!! I am just now doing a photo stitch project, my 1st one. What fun they are to do! Thanks for sharing your picture. Love it! Flowers to everybody!!
This rose on the fabric is stunning and certainly deserves to be used as a show stopper...I could see this hung somewhere, too.......
Yvonne - it looks absolutely beautiful. Where did you buy the fabric from? Sarah (Knysna)
Sarah, the fabric are all over to be found, I also got some from Metro in Pretoria, very nice job Yvonne. And I agree i would also frame it beautiful Magda
I love it! How large is this piece of fabric? It would be beautiful in a frame. Also have you seen those memory boards where ribbon criss crosses them and you have thumbtacks to hold the ribbon or like the one on this link, depending how large that fabric is.

Dear Yvonne, I'd love this as the front page of a notebook - I'm not sure how big this design is but if it is a 5x7 then you could even frame it. Love Chris
Wat mooi Yvonne. Ik zou er een tas of een kussen van maken. Nice for a bag or a pillow.
A cushion? Whatever you do I think it is beautiful and I look forward to reading what others say
